So long as you know your place little one.
You purposely believe in and argue for the existence of an invisible, illogical sky friend/sky daddy.

My 12 year old daughter is your better. At best, your equal.

Call it what you will. It doesn't bother me. I face the unknown. You fear it which is why you fight so hard to be right. I couldn't care less about your personal choices nor how you choose too live your life. It is your life not mine. Being atheist doesn't make you more intelligent as much as you want it to. You claim logic in your arguments, but fail to see the fallible side of evidence produced from a source proven to be fallible. You could argue that believers do the same thing with using the bible as reference even though it is flawed and fallible.

Welcome to the world of faith.

Neh, I've come to terms a long time ago that there's most likely no after life. I think it's you that's afraid that there's no after life. That's why you fight so hard to be right.

Being atheist doesn't make you more intelligent as much as you want it to.
No, it's your belief in the bible that makes you less intelligent in this case.

Right, the bible is flawed and fallible. Therefore it's logically ridiculous to believe it's magic stories might possibly be true.

And you still don't understand how the scientific method works. That also makes you pretty stupid in this case.

Welcome to the world of faith.
CD already said it: absence of faith =/= faith.

That you still don't get it makes me your intellectual better. But you're too stupid to know your place.

If you trust in something, it is faith dumbass. If you trust scientific method is the best way, then you have faith in it. It isn't a difficult concept. If you trust in logic, you have faith in it. It is that simple.

I don't understand scientific method? Lol! Whatever makes you feel better at night princess.

I also find some stories in the bible to be a bit ridiculous. I can admit that. I also notice stories that are entirely possible. So should you look at the bible as nothing but nonsense?

I also never implied "magic". Whatever happened had to have had a very real explanation. Jesus could have been an ancient David copperfield. I understand that, but I also know that the tales of Jesus must have some truth in it to create such political uproar for the times. He MUST have been a special person to accomplish that. It is worth the research. If I think like this, certainly others who lived in those times would have done the same thing. Then again, someone blinded by their own fragile ego can't understand beyond themselves and assumes everyone to be as re ed as themselves.

I don't recall referencing you specifically. You weren't quoted.
You were responding to me -- so if it was just ridiculous gross generalization on your part, I don't know what you are trying to argue.

So how do you deduce something doesn't exist using fallible methods?
Actually, I'm just waiting for someone to prove it does exist. That's how it works. You're doing a terrible job of it BTW.

I am looking for the same thing tbh. I'm sure that we both can agree that such a discovery will be a remarkable accomplishment for humanity regardless of the outcome.

Sure, I have faith in an open ended system to produce theories of the universe that make sense, even if there aren't yet answers for everything . The Bible is a closed system that will never produce evidence for anything.

But faith in the scientific method =/= lack of faith in bible god.

The Bible itself implies God's supernatural magic in every book. Which parts exactly do you believe in? The resurrection? The flood? The 6 day creation?

Pick one you think is possible and let's dissect and discuss.

What in your mind is supernatural?

There are places in the universe where the laws of physics break down. Would that qualify as supernatural since it defies our knowledge and laws? What is possible in a place or by something that doesn't adhere to our laws of physics.

The resurrection could easily be real. Even in modern times people are mistaken for dead.

The flood could have also been real. "The world" could easily have meant only the world that they themselves knew of. It could easily have been a tsunami. Besides, if everyone else was killed off but Noah or whatever, then of course the world becomes limited to the knowledge of the world to Noah and survivors.

6 Day creation. God created the world in 6 days. How does one determine the length of a day without a sun? It could easily have been an interpretation of stages in which people could comprehend.

There is proofs out there. Just proofs that you do not want to accept.

David, Saul, Solomon, Abraham, Jesus, Moses, Muhammad, all might very well be real people known to have existed in those eras.

The stories surrounding them, could easily be taken as myth much like King Arthur or Atlantis. Does it not mean that there is no truth to their accounts? Was it all due to their faith that they were able to accomplish such things?

Someone's existing and someone's being magic messiah man are two different things.

If all you are saying is some regular people existed around whom crazy myths evolved, then we are in agreement.

I never implied magic. There has to be a very REAL explanation for whatever happened back then. I do believe that some of the stories are embellished. I also believe that just because a story is embellished it doesn't mean that there is no truth to the story.

David vs. Goliath, Sodom and Gomorrah, Temple of Solomon, Jesus trashing the market, lots of stuff like that, the crucifixion. There is too much to write.

I don't believe things happened exactly as they are written though. I do believe that there must be a proper explanation as to why it happened. As I keep saying, there are reasons why things happened that I cannot just blindly chalk up to coincidence. I do not believe in magic, but I do believe things happen for a reason.

People have had their shadows burned into walls. A person could be burned alive and left a pile of ash. Check out what happens to people caught in pyroclastic flows.

Then why didn't the bible just come out and say that? You're having to make things up to fit your beliefs.

I am doing no such thing. You are expecting ancient people to have the same amount of knowledge as we do.

They can't just come out and say what they do not understand. The only thing left to do is describe the event the best they can. They didn't have Google.

So in the end, perhaps it is you that is making up your idea of how much ancients should know and basing all of your arguments based on the assumption that their knowledge of nature and the world was at the same level as ours. I am not the one warping things to fit my belief structure. You are.

Of course. You have already made your decision on it. I on the other hand require more research in order to form my opinions especially since there are events/people in the bible that could be scientifically explained.

Do you believe the bible is divinely inspired or not? If so, then God is a terrible communicator.

Why don't you stop being wishy washy and explain clearly what you believe about Jesus and the bible.

So you allow for all that potential actuality in all religions or just the one you chose?
