Are y'all serious? Foye sucks I'm glad OKC is getting him.

If Cleveland just got Frye for nothing, that'll be kinda ty.
They need 3-point shooting from the wing position and Foye has torched the Spurs several times recently while in Denver. He was awful for the Clips in the playoffs back in 2012, but playing for OKC and off the attention that Durant and Westbrook get could really open things up for him.

Damn, only a 2nd rounder too
The Magic would have dumped Frye's contract for nothing in return ala Tiago; it's the Blazers that got the worst end of the deal. Makes no in' sense at all considering the Blazers training staff's history.

Surprising, isn't Varejao's contract almost fully guaranteed for next season too? Do Portland think they could actually play him?

    Portland loves their fragile bigs.
I won't be surprised if they sign Oden next season.

Meh, still doesn't fix their awful defense and he's on the decline but Frye to Cleveland though
Unless Love is jettison'd for better depth and they take RJ out back and shoot him, it's a lateral move. Frye can't share the floor with Love and can't play defense. Also helps Diaw or West can stick with him on the perimeter.

Yeah I don't get this for POR

Are they really banking on Varejao fully healthy next season ? I mean, he is the most injury prone Brazilian player and that says A LOT

Magic are clearing ton of cap space, which I think is a good move, but not sure that they're going to lure a top-tier FA there.. Still the right move imo, just thinking out loud.

I have been very impressed with the moves Portland has made in recovering from the loss of LMA - that is, until this deal. A real head-scratcher unless it is prelim to another move.

Wow what a deal for the Pistons, I really like Motiejunas although injury prone.
IMO that was a killer deal for HOU. This year they won't be winning anyway.

    HOU gets:
1st TOP 8 protected (then TOP-10 protected the next 2 years)
    Joel Anthony

    DET gets:
    DMo Splitter
    Marcus Thornton

Well Detroit got better. I really like that for the East. After Chi and Alt almost imploding, Miami with the bad Bosh news, MIl going south this season, and Ind in experiment mode, the East needed some good teams to make the conference more interesting. We still have to see Boston... Did they end up with Love or not?

Only thing for Detroit is, let's hope DMo doesn't turn into Tiago for them.

Detroit didn't really get significantly better, tbh..they might improve if it works out, but Montejunas has been pretty terrible, this year..

He went from a long-term asset for the Rockets to trade-able in less than a year, which probably speaks on the severity of his back injury..

I don't mind the gamble for the Pistons, but I like the move for Houston..

Frye always seems to be able to drop threes on our heads. Seems like he manages some of his better performances against the Spurs. Not sure I like the idea of him going to Cleveland.

Just ty that they gave up nothing for him. Varejao/Cunningham are irrelevant + a 2nd round pick in the 50s is nothing. Being able to turn those things into a legitimately solid role player like Frye is definitely a win.

Great Deal for Houston. Looks like they want to get young guys to build around Harden after having a player power struggle w/ Howard.

It is also a great deal for the Piston. A pretty good Stretch PF to play along side Drummond.

Sounds like POR is getting a 1st and a 2nd from CLE, so that makes more sense.

Source? Not that I don't believe you, just curious 'cause I haven't seen anything about that on my end. Definitely makes more sense though - no way Portland just takes on Varejao for nothing.

damn, all that hadn't even registered to me. the cavs have the eastern conference made...

if the spurs played in the east we'd be able to rest players during the early rounds of the playoffs tbh.
