Lame, lots of talks about potential deals but it sounds like most of them have fallen through
Martin/Affalo would be an empty stat galore SG combo![]()

I think with the big increase in cap space has made people cautious, as in let's wait and see. On the other hand- those names being bandied about have baggage. The biggest name- DH is a potentila free agent and you have to match 22 million. In addition he goes through coaches like crazy
Cavs just got Frye from the Magic and only gave Varejao who's not playing anyway.
Looking for more spacing for Lebron apparently... wonder if he'll have any significant impact.
Magic get more cap space.
Got nightmares now of how Phoenix eliminated the Spurs with Frye firing up those 3 point shots.
Spurs picked a perfect year to go into the tax. There's not going to be much in the way of a tax distribution. Even Cleveland shed salary.
If you really think about- why would you trade for him?
He is in decline-
You would have to trade huge amounts to get him
He may bolt next year
Even when really good- he was bit of a head case
If I'm Boston- why give away future assets for a player that will not make you the favorite...
OKC just saved $3.5+ million in salary, which results in something like $10 million of tax savings. Don't kid yourself that they actually wanted Foye. Their owners are being cheap and are either broke from oil weakness, or the resulting weak Oklahoma economy.
Looks like Spotrac is actually keeping payrolls up-to-date - you're right that the luxury tax payout looks pretty meager now:

Over Type Tax CLE $22.2 Repeater $75.3 LAC $10.9 Repeater $29.5 GSW $10.8 Non $18.2 OKC $8.8 Repeater $23.1 CHI $4.3 Non $6.5 HOU $2.7 Non $4.1 SAS $1.7 Non $2.5 Total $159.2 Per team 23 $6.9
