I'm an original member there. Have Thousands upon thousands upon thousands of posts, and earned a few Spurs under my name.
I left that place. They don't moderate it. The most obscene and rude things are posted there. Half naked chicks, and every insult you can imagine in the next post.

Wait, is this going to turn into another ST forum takeover? I want a front row seat if that happens.
They are not totally wrong, tbh. I still like SpursTalk, but it's definitely not what it used to be. A lot of the knowledgeable posters have left or stopped posting, which has made it easier for a few bad apples to try to ruin the bunch. Every now and then you'll get a piece of breaking news or some decent analysis and discussion, but you have to dig through all of the trolling and playerfan cliques to find it.
I actually prefer /r/nba over r/NBAspurs, because you get opinions from a much broader fan base who, for the most part, have nothing but respect for the Spurs organization. And it doesn't turn into ing doomsday every time the Spurs lose a game.

SpursTalk clearly isn't the same as it once was, but the freedom here makes it much more enjoyable than ty forums like RealGM/Reddit, tbh..sports forums are generally filled with corny, lame-ass people that give boring, repe ive opinions..you'll find a lot of those here, too, but at least there's balance with humor..
In general, though, hardcore sports fans are unlikable and uninteresting, tbh..some of us here exhibit sociopath/schizophrenic/bipolar behavior, at times, it keeps things interesting

As I said, it really just need a little more modding in the way of closing bad threads and keeping posters from spamming. You stop the asphyxiation from the Krew posters, and ST would look 10 times better.
I enjoy both for separate reasons. I like that I can say whatever I want here.... I like that I get a more unbiased view from NBA fans there. (Spurs fans are super ing homers there though)....
I still have no idea how anyone thought Memphis was going to win that series. The Grizzlies have have like four of the 10 worst West playoff teams of the past five years.

The loose moderation is part of what makes this site so enjoyable, but at the same time yeah, this place could definitely use at least a little bit more moderating. I can see why some would be turned off by all the trolling.

exactly, if you want to look at the avatars or pics, you can change the settings not a big deal.I think we can all agree ST has gone downhill. But I do love the contrast between it and general forums. It would be nice to just lower the volume of filth by locking more threads, pinking posters and in general rewarding more on-point talks. But I also love the fact that you can straight call out a poster on this site with no fear of being banned. That's truly rare nowadays.
I haven't seen anyone signature in over 2 years because it kept getting me in trouble here at work lol
