It also has to do with the fact he can't beat SFs down the floor nor beat them off the dribble & Moute/Draymond aren't mediocre post defenders like Davis/Vuc. Playing center will best serve him on offense rather than trying to bully defensively competent undersized PFs.
If he was being guarded by a SF I wonder if Pop really should not have limited the TD/LMA pairing.

He also scored with ease against the Rockets that game that TD was out bc of his knee and KA ended up starting and playing a good 18-19 minutes bc Rockets were using Ariza at the 4.... LMA took it to D.Howard... TBH you can keep smiling about this, but I do think the pace matters a lot.

Dwert got embarrassed by Bogut. Dude is washed up & no longer an all-star level player.

Spurs are back looking like the most shiny fools gold ever ...
Saw this stat: Spurs are 7-3 in their last 10, all three losses by an average of 21. Yikes. And those three losses are to the contenders.

He played a part in boxing out Dwight Howard against the Rockets... so i don't think that was the issue. TD needing to start was the issue.

Apparently these days the rip through move which results in a non shooting foul, becomes a shooting foul when Paul does it.

I don't think he will be in Kawhi's shadow, bc that is not a Spursy theme TBH. Playing behind Kawhi in minutes is maybe what you meant... but he's versatile and can give you minutes at both forward spots. In due time, who knows, the league is more positionless than ever. Multiple teams have several forwards of kawhi's and his size playing together and mixing and matching with the bench. If Spurs wanted to keep him they can work him in for sure. If what you mean is playing time that can become a factor, but I see a CoJo scenario for him. Rookie scale deals are so cheap that you are not going to get another young player with his upside in any other way. You might get a Rasual Butler, who yes, he has looked good, but he was washed up by this time last season bc the Wizards overplayed him and he didn't have anything left after the all star break.
Therein lies the conundrum...if he does get better in the next two seasons, he might become too expensive for a low-minute backup SF, which is what I feel the Spurs will need as long as Kawhi is around. That's what happened with Cojo, we couldn't afford him for what we needed him to be (third string PG).

Again, Dwert is done. Bogut made him his by swatting him 5 times at the rim. DeAndre is the 2nd leading rebounder in the league for a reason.

Except they haven't had their entire starting 5 in any of those losses:
    -Worriers: Tim out
    -Cavs: Tim out
    -Cripples: Kawhi/Manu out

Yeah, the Cripples don't have Blake but they have the best pure point god in the league who can squeeze ever ounce of talent from his teammates & Blake has been a negative on defense this season. His best asset is passing & finishing PnRs but Cp3/DeAndre do that better than him.

Wow, that was a pretty pathetic performance, albeit somewhat predictable.

Cojo has indeed shined for the Raptors and we were lucky to have him, so I see your point. The situation might ultimately be the same, but probably not because the team is changing very soon, unlike what happened with Cojo. Right now he's been made redundant not by Kawhi but by Boris. Although he's a different player from Boris he's very much playmaking forward and a glue guy like Boris is and we are soon, very soon going to need that bc our best passing forwards are all old.

The redeeming part of last night's loss was that Pop never resorted to Hack-A-Jordan.

Is Mugen that fake mexican with a wig in the 5th row there?
Mugen did say he was going to clothesline Parker at the game. I wonder if we'll see Mugen on the news after this abomination.
Terrible game. Had a great time tho, best seats I've ever had for a Spurs game tbh.

Was able to talk to LMA, Patty, Dwest, and Boris before the game and get some pics. All good guys. Said what up to my man RC who was hanging out in the tunnel for most of it.

Porky ran right by the fans tho, fastest i've seen him move the last 3 seasons tbh...
