At least 12 only had his achilles snapped at 34. Meanwhile the son nailed to a cross at 33. Talk about aging bad.
    Grim business indeed

Dude, that's the first definition you get on multiple sites. And you even admit you're giving "guidance"

So again, just come out and say you're acting like a self-important ass and that you had nothing to stand on but your own sense of superiority.

So, where are we in this topic spurs-familia? We still mourning Mrs. Williams or what?

Gonna be sad when Monty dies and realize that his wife isn't in "heaven" like he said she was yesterday

    Chinook:

I don't think it's messed up. It's normal people will care because there was a tragedy that they are made aware. Every time a tragedy is presented, specially in certain ways, many people will feel bad about it and do certain things. If the people who died is not close enough, it will probably be a temporary concern. But I don't think it's necessarily a hypocrite thing to do.

The heat you got, I think you got because people expect you to either care or express your disinterest in a different way. I suppose you thinking it is hypocritical to show concern in a situation like this makes it annoying that people would call you out.

In any case, I understand and mostly agree with your position on how people establish criteria on when to worry and not worry (not necessarily not care but not feel concern). It will vary from person to person though as we have different levels of empathy.

In a technical way, you're probably on point on the assessment of his speech. In a practical way, I think he expressed his intended message very well, IMO.

    Hater:

I don't think his speech is meaningless. I do think he set a very high standard and he will suffer more than he showed in that speech. But the overall idea, I'd think he believes that. Wouldn't know with certainty, since I don't know him personally, of course.

I think it's much more soulless to pretend to care about people who you don't know. Like seriously, how many people in this thread can honestly say they knew anything about Williams' wife before she died?
Chinook, I think some poster here are just meshing your post with the other insensitive comments made. This is what you should have initially wrote and knew you meant all along. But your previous probably taken by some that the insensitive post made by others were justifiable.

I agree, I always find it amusing people mourning over people they never knew when they don't even cherish the ones they love each and everyday. But at the end of the day, you don't have to mourn the person, but at least show some respect and realize people cope with death in different ways.

You don't give any more s than I do. Did you go to the funeral? Are you out trying to raise awareness for safe driving? I'm surprised you can even post with all the world-fixing you're doing. You think you and your high horse are doing enough to fix the world from your god-damned office chair that you can critique others. It's pathetic. "Feeling bad" is the easy part. That's why so many people do it with things they have no right to. You're clearly looking for validation for taking the easy road out, and I'm not offering any. Regardless, I'm pretty sure you were done responding on this topic. It's funny how all that peace and harmony goes out the window when I don't agree with you.

Yeah I agree with Chinook. Feel bad for Monty but it's not like his wife's passing affects me in any way.
Nothing wrong with having compassion for someone who loses a life partner. They had kids that now will never see their mother again.

Having lost my mother at a young age I can feel real compassion without knowing them because I can relate.

Pretty incredible. Not a religious person but damn was that a powerful speech. Takes a lot of strength to give a speech like that after you just lost the mother of your children.
Well, some wifes are nicer than others.
