He made some nice passes too, and no TO tonight. Kobe was a tough assignment... he wrecked it a few times, but Kobe also made very tough shots, as did Williams... they were daring him to shoot. I dont think he's ever taken 14 shots in his NBA career... ended up being 7/14... its just that probably all his 7 misses were in the same stretch.

    Bah.. we survived it.

Simmons had a nice bounce back game TBH.

And Rasual was shooting well.. lol

We have trouble getting stops without Kawhi for sure though, and TD is still late on his rotations and stuff like that. Pop showed confidence in Kyle though... He had to, its not like he had options. I don't think you can play Rasual 30 minutes at this stage... and Simmons is very wild/foul prone, you can never tell on defense. But its a growth opportunity for both guys. Rasual may be our guy for the playoffs TBH, you are right on that, but developing KA and Simmons is a need considering the cap, our situation next season and some guys' possible retirement or declining minutes/role next season.

    All in all, a win.

The Lakers have given us such thrilling games this season TBH. Clarkson and Dbust are fun to watch, and Kobe always shows off. Lucky we survived this without Kawhi TBH.. tanking and all, the lakers were making a lot of tough shots, and drawing fouls on all of our guys.
Kobe has made those fade-aways over plenty of guys besides Kyle. This game may be a VERY good building block for Kyle, tbh, and to Simmons to a lesser extent. We need those guys to continue to develop - you are right. I do believe, however that for a half season Rasual is capable of playing 20-25 mins./game. I hope we don't need that, but I'm just sayin'...

I liked Anderson tonight... he had some lulls out there in the 3rd, but overall I thought he was a net positive. It's the Lakers, but still, he should get the recognition when he plays well.
If he knocks down just a couple of those open jumpers, he suddenly has a great game. Thought he played well overall. Still just 22 years old.

I have just noticed Danny played only 19 minutes and didn't take a single 3 pt shot, and only had 1 of 4 shots, and I distinctly remember that one shot being a tip in from an Anderson miss early in the game... He had 5 PF, so Pop has got to not be happy with Danny.
I did not realize Danny was in foul trouble. I am not sure Bill and Sean were either... They didn't make anything of it.

    That would be the s.
But, which team would you want the spurs to play in the 2nd round? OKC or Clippers?

If we are actually in the Varejo sweepstakes, I mean why? He's not the future TD replacement and otherwise our bigs are pretty crowded.

It was terrific to see him take it strong to the hole on that last drive. He aggressively dove on the floor for a lose ball and he had a couple of very stron rebounds in traffic in the last game. I think he is learning a little nasty, and Pop is pushing him for that kind of development at this point.

Yea, Danny got in foul trouble with the 5 fouls and we can't play Rasual 30 minutes, so we really needed him this game... he played a role in this win and we did get the win.. that is all that matters. Other guys played well too, but he had a tough assignment.

Hopefully we don't need that, if Kyle is healthy we see Pop prefers to give more minutes to him, so long as he's not killing us out there, not only cause he's younger, but he's also a developing young guy. I always remember Manu's words: "he's earned it (simmons too). It's not like Pop is being nice Pop out there. They went after it and earned this chance."
I am not sure how many minutes Rasual was playing for the Wiz, but he burned out after a while. I would keep him like Manu at 20, if it's a need. Both about the same age, so it seems right. But like you said, we hopefully don't need that from him.

Oh I double checked. Rasual 19 minutes.

Glad to see Kyle with a lot of burn. He did decent. The reality is, he's going to get a lot of open shots. He's difficult to cover because of his length and dribbling.

Also, this is a back to back game and he also played decent minutes the previous game.

There are a lot of haters here in ST, they just don't like his game. I'm however am encouraged with his game. His length is going to be a valuable asset.

Green has been awful. He's starting to struggle again on offense and defense. The Spurs will need to explore other options after the season if he doesn't turn it around. Everyone seemed to bounce back after yesterday's crappy performance but him.

Unfortunate we didn't get a good chance to deal him before Thursday.

It would be great to have a two guard who can play solid D and create off the dribble. The team also needs an infusion of youth and athleticism in the backcourt.
