Good taste with the S class tbh
Dude humbled himself and played in the D League. He played extremely well in the D League and earned a chance to play again in the NBA. Is he good enough to stick? I don't know. He's in a weird place where he dominate in the D League, but struggles in the NBA. I can't hate on him for putting in the work and I hope he sticks in NY.
Good taste with the S class tbh
I was talking about people in this thread count...
BBall Breakdown with some booming castigation of the ST trolls and the like...
(((LINK))))In terms of Fredette, I’m amazed at how dismissive fans have been about him. I felt Jimmer was officially “NBA ready” in early January. All he’s done is played lights out all year in the D-League culminating in his All-Star MVP award in Toronto. He’s got great momentum right now and there could be another Linsanity perfect storm brewing. I’ve watched Fredette extensively at Westchester and here’s what you need to know: Offensively, he can help the Knicks tomorrow if he gets minutes- he’s been that good. Physically, he’s NBA stable in my estimation and ready to play at the speed and strength necessary at the game’s highest level.

Bball Breakdown: Jimmer's Offense
What’s impressed me most is that he started the year wanting to strictly play on the ball and then after being forced to pair with Travis Trice in the triangle, he adjusted to life off of it. While he struggled off the ball initially, an issue he had while in New Orleans, Sacramento, and Chicago, over the course of the last 2 months he’s improved to the point where he can be a great pair with a PG who wants to handle it as well. This culminated with his performance with Quinn Cook (12 assists) in the D-League All-Star Game. With the ball, he’s dynamic and we know what he can do, but it’s off the ball where Jimmer has improved and excelled. Including pick and roll, on and off the ball, Jimmer has picked up the Triangle well, something that Grant has struggled to do. Jimmer is an extraordinarily high-IQ player so his learning curve on reads was very quick. He understands two-pass and moment of truth importance and when to utilize high post entries to trigger backdoor reads.
Bball Breakdown: Jimmer's Defense
Defensively, he’s had issues. But, he can be hidden on switches in the pick-and-roll, as evidenced by The Westchester Knicks ranking 4th in the D-League in Defensive Rating with Fredette playing 36 minutes per game. He’s smart and knows when to go under the ball screen against guys who can’t consistently knocked down jumpers. If he’s paired with a Jerian Grant or a Langston Galloway, he can be sufficient and if he’s hitting his shots he’ll be a net positive. On the year he’s handled post-up situations very well, but it’s lateral foot speed in pick-and- roll where he struggles. For the season he’s had an offensive rating of 108.5 and a defensive rating of 102.2 (net +6.3) while playing at a 100.08% pace, clearly helping more than he’s hurting.
Bball Breakdown: On Jimmer getting the Knicks into the playoffs
The Knicks will rely on Calderon out of the post All-Star break gate, but they are going to need to get out in transition and get help from Grant and Fredette in pick-and-roll if they are going to make a serious playoff push. They certainly can adopt a good, four-guard rotation with Calderon and Fredette paired with either Grant or Langston Galloway giving the team the triangle foundation in the backcourt and the ability to veer off into a pick-and-roll situation off of Porzingis or Melo in secondary transition. This fluidity will help the offense create more made shots allowing them to retreat back defensively and get into more 5-on-5 situations, which will lead to more defensive stops and ended possessions. If the Knicks can get stops and find a way to score transition buckets the wins will come potentially getting them back on track and on course to a potential 8th seed.
Carmelo calls Jimmer "Jimmy"... ruffles some Jimmy feathers.
When asked by The Post on Saturday night about the imminent signing, Anthony asked, “Who are we getting?”
“To be honest with you, I haven’t seen Jimmy play in a long time,” Anthony said. “I’ve been hearing about what’s he’s doing down there in the D-League, but I haven’t seen him play in action for a long time.”
Anthony seemed underwhelmed, joking, “I thought you were telling me we were about to sign someone.”
No, it’s just Jimmer. After Sunday’s game, Fredette laughed off Anthony’s miscue.
“I’ve had people call me Jimmy, Jim, Jimster,” Fredette told reporters.
Sources have indicated it’s unclear if Fredette will get playing time unless he proves himself in practice. Knicks interim coach Kurt Rambis indicated Friday that Fredette is an example of a top college star not fully yet making the adjustment to the NBA, where the game is “faster” and the players are “stronger.”
This guy finally completed his journey back to the NBA and is in the Knicks... congratulations to him, but why continue the diAtribe about a knicker... This probably should be sent to the general forum at this point.
As far as this year, the Spurs are stilling paying the bulk of his salary. So I guess it still appropriate to have his progress evaluated upstairs for at least this year.
Good to see; but the Knicks utter dysfunction is distressing. Not sure this won't be another stop over. Fat Melo doesn't want anyone stealing his thunder; and the panzy ass management will oblige.
already getting the excuses lined up, eh?
Cancerny had the nickname long before Jimmer came to town....
Is that a real video? I didn't think Jimmer could make NBA threes.
Jimmer’s just like the NBA Tebow in so many ways. Including the slow release.
It is amazing to me that there is a dude who jerks off to Fredette.
How many days is this?
Jimmer's line tonight: DNP - RACISM
Of course you do.
