I've thought about what would the south have done about blacks and football, hmmm? Knowing how much football means to that region of the country would they have took a beating by not allowing blacks in their schools? I don't think so, I think they'd say..."we can't win without him, the with being a racist prick, we must let them in".
The great Jesse Owens was from Alabama, but had to attend Ohio State. If he wanted to stay in the south he'd had to have gone to an HBCU school.

I grew up in central Cali, I never saw race being a problem here and I was in contact with a lot of blacks being a track guy and a footballer.
