Somebody posted this pic a few pages back but he was wearing #22. Now he's wearing #23. 22 + 23 = 45. 4+5 = 9. Tony Parker wears #9. Illuminati confirmed. The Spurs are going to release Tony for Martin.

K-Mart: The Shopping.
I can see it now, "I'm taking my MODEST talents to The Land!"
Maybe they've agreed but nobody can find Bonner to tell him the bad news first! Matty with the phone off, camped out under an assumed name in a cheap motel on some desolate highway until Kevin re-thinks the signing.
Truthfully, unlike others here I like Bonner and wouldn't want his Spurs tenure to end so ignominiously.![]()
Maybe they're waiting for after tomorrow's game against the Kings so Bonner gets his send off game?
"I've stocked up on sandwiches, I'm ready for a siege!"
souns like his regular residence
Bonner threw his cell phone in the river, got in his El Camino and headed into the sunset. The theme music from The Incredible Hulk playing in the background.
I don't know if this guy is a beat writer and follows the team on the road (he has projectspurs on his bio), but it's interesting that he ran into Matt's dad... Does Matt's father always travel with him? Or was last night's game a special one for some reason![]()
Maybe the Spurs aren't that interested. That Buck Harvey column in the Manu injury thread indicates that Manu's quicker than expected recovery could lessen their interest in Martin.
Squeezing those last few dollars out of Minny could cost Martin in other ways.
We've concocted quite an ending to the Red Mamba era, now all we need is a shoot out, a chain-smoking, buxom femme fatale and some Bonner-esque wit and we can start on the screenplay.Call it "Y Tu Mambá También"
Or he could be in a van down by the Guadalupe River...
If he were leaving, I don't think his dad would be saying his son plays for them in that fashion.
maybe spurs plan to let Matt play his retirement game at home tomorrow before waiving him and signing KMart
Same here. I keep checking as if I'm going to miss something as soon as I put my phone down.
I'm surprised how quiet it is with him. Not a peep with any team.
I'm doing the same, why, I don't know. It's not like the LMA watch last summer. Doubt Kevin Martin makes a difference one way or the other.
good one
But Bill his tenure is seemingly going to end as the very last person on the bench in a suit, so I really don't see the difference, I would think he would fall on his sword for the team and get that front office gig.
As far as my understanding of the CBA goes (but you can check yourself at cbafaq.com), Kevin Martin has officially hit free agency only about an hour ago (5pm ET).
This is beacause the 48-hour waiver period always ends at 5pm ET. Therefore, while the Timberwolves did request waivers for him at about 11pm ET on Tuesday (which is enough to make him eligible for the playoffs), the actual waiver period started at 5pm ET on the following day (Wednesday) and ended at 5pm ET today (Friday), i.e. an hour ago.
So, basically, it's unlikely we're gonna get any news about him before Sunday...
It has Spurs written all over because we HAVEN'T heard anything.
Isn't the question who they're going to cut to make room for Martin?
