One of the problems with the 2014-2015 team was that we stayed pat. The hungry team of the previous year didn't have the same fire. You always want to add one or two hungry vets that will kill a guy for a ring. Now we have like a thousand of them.
Bonner is tall but is not and never has been a "big."

What are the chances we find out someone gets waived tomorrow morning and Martin is active against the Kings?
There's only one ball
It should be Bonner but it wouldn't surprise me if it was Simmons.
Butler is a reliable vet Pop has preferred lately. Simmons hyper-abundance of recent mistakes got him less and less playing time even with a need for SG minutes while Manu has been injured. He's also likely to be picked up somewhere else. Like Ray they are still young and free to join other teams, playoff teams are actually not even the best fits for them bc they need to play and will get time in younger teams.
At this stage Simmons been reduced to a more athletic Ray Mac status in the team, and the same rationale applies: "we still believe there is potential development there, but we are looking to strengthen the team for the playoffs and you would not play: yada yada." I guess we will see.
frkn hilarious. Good job
It's been good Matty Boy. Peace.
You guys can't tell who's a credible twitter guy. Ejaculating over nothing, especially coach.
And it's probable that he'll return tomorrow
I want Butler to be cut. The meltdown would be too good tbh.
Dude stays trending down. Wall of text when you prove him wrong.![]()
Cutting Simmons would be like dumping Scola, very damaging to a team going forward without a lot of players with years left in their athletic prime.
Even cutting Butler is bad.
Bonner would make sense if his leg is still messed up.
The thing about Bonner is that his injury is possibly recurring. Just because he's getting healthy now doesn't mean he can be relied on to be healthy in two months. I really don't see how it makes sense to keep him. With the way small-ball is and with even Memphis not having the bigs to punish it, the Spurs shouldn't need more than five true bigs.
Interested in a podcast apperance?
Now, I want them to cut Bonner and keep Butler, but the handwringing over whether they cut the 13th guy on the roster or the 15th guy is amusing. Especially when the 15th guy has been a forum whipping boy for the better part of a decade. His survival would produce an epic meltdown.
i've considered that as well.
I think it would only be a big deal to some people. To put this into perspective, I was more upset that Jarrel Eddie didn't get a contract for training camp than I would be if Butler got cut for Martin. I would be apoplectic is UNTE2016 got his wish and Anderson was cut (and yes, that's not going to happen for a lot of reasons). But it's not worth it for Butler, who is getting overrated right now anyway.
Just seems like they could cut Bonner, keep him around as a coach this year and give him a ring if the team wins. Wouldn't be as likely with Butler, though if he were game, I'd absolutely hope the Spurs kept him around to keep mentoring the young wings.
Martin hasn't even passed his physical![]()
Probably not in the near future, but what's going on with it?
LOOOOOOOOOL. Pop and RC been reading ST lately and wants to nuke this place
my nig
Of course, but you know I wasn't talking about people making reasonable cases about what ought to happen. It's the people losing their minds that delivers the amusement.
Your biggest concern is Bonner's health status? The Spurs might not be able to rely on him in two months?
Who the cares, Bonner doesn't play regardless. Half the games, he's dressed in street clothes. He hasn't been a functional part of a Spurs playoff rotation since 2011. He's done!
I mean, now that the Cold War is over, yeah.
