Yup. We have addressed the guard issue for this year, maybe. But, there is still a gaping hole at center. There is no rim protection and our guards got older. Answer may be only for West to foul penetrating guards into the morgue until next year.

Stalking Martin's hometown newspaper writers. Good move

we are STACKED babies............................lol
There are a few of us. But, Bonner's injury sort of just makes the decision seem pretty obvious. If shooting one three in one minute's worth of play causes resurgence of the calf injury, it doesn't give me much confidence heading into the post-season. Maybe it's better, now. I don't know. Maybe he'll be back next year. I don't know. But, seems pretty obvious that Butler can give us more, now. But, I could also entertain Mel's notion that watching Bonner get the nod over Butler would be totally worth the meltdown. Sort of a last thumb in the eye of the group that has underrated him for the last 40 years.
It's the Spurstalk way. A tradition that will live as long as the "lol"- and the "Jimmer"-thread.
But won't SAS lose Bonner's Bird exception if he's waived?
One wonders if they promised Kevin a future here as a Manu-replacement (assuming the Bat-basher retires this offseason) as part of their pitch. He's not the playmaker Manu is, but then who is...
Since he's a terrible playmaker, I would assume not.
Please, no more Anderson. Stop the madness
Not to mention they can't afford him after this year of planning on keeping Boban. No bird rights, only the MLE most likely.
I like this pickup as much for next year as for this. A good chance he might stick and bolster the bench when Manu is gone.
We post up with so many players now the kick out to another 3 point shooter who can also drive is quite compelling...Someone who the defense must cover. It's an obvious move. Martin fitting the entire scheme is doubtful.
Okay... with Martin now on the team... who is in a suit?
Boban? Butler? Simmons?
Gotta be Simmons. Boban owns Boogie.
Most of your posts are meant to belittle.
Actually the most import thing is who is on the rotation against GSW?
Parker, Mills,
Green, Martin, Manu, Simmons
Leonard, Anderson, Butler
Aldridge, Diaw
Duncan, West
Sitting... Miller and Boban?
I think Simmons will be sitting and Miller active. Miller was brought in to be a bigger point partly in case Livingston (and to a lesser degree Rivers against the Clips) is too big for Patty and just posts him up in the playoffs.
Boban and the survivor of Butler/Bonner will probably be sitting against the Warriors. Miller could sit against teams that can't take advantage of Patty's size.
I prefer letting Miller sit over Butler against the Dubs. I think Butler as a small ball PF would be more needed against them
I don't think Miller can defend Livington, you need someone bigger like either Anderson or Butler.
BTW, the question is who sits against GSW. Spurs are going to destroy most other teams with whoever isn't playing.
However Miller was brought in for a reason. Pop seems to have some crazy plan up his sleeve.
I agree with Harlem that waiving Butler would be a very atypical Spurs action. Between his mentoring, his solid play filling in and the fact that he now can't sign with another playoff team it would be a bit of a move. If someone gets in foul trouble during the playoffs, it's good to know you have a guy that is ready to go and can still play at a high level.
Lil mo has a bad at ude, it comes from upbringing
