I'm a huge Marco fan, but what did he really do until Evita held his hand to a championship?
Not smoking anything unfortunately. Dried up
I was obviously alluding to the comments made that he would replace Beli as big testicled clutch shooter

He seems about the same player as Fiat. No defense, can occasionally hit an open shot.
He singlehandely destroyed the blazers while evita was picking his nose on the bench tbqh
His actually game isn't like Marco but he'll have a similar role & plays the same position.
If you look at his game it very similar to Lou Williams who was 6th Man of the Year last season with Toronto. They both shoot from everywhere on the court & draw a lot of fouls b/c of their weird release/drifting movement on jump-shots/floaters. The difference is that Lou is 6'1" & plays a quasi PG role thus has less assisted shot attempts than K-Mart who plays off the ball similar to Marco.
Folks have tried to compare him to Crawford who basically scores on isolations or Marco who rarely gets to the line & doesn't utilize floaters. Neal is closer to K-Mart than either one of those guys but Lou Williams is his midget clone.
I just look forward to him pissing off opponents with his expert level ability to draw BS fouls.
Hope that part of his game is on point for us.
Ironically signing him is exactly what we want KL to be able to do - get to line and control pace.... Awesome signing. If he lingers around the three point line he probably shoots it better than green, if he takes it to the rim he gets to the line. Just hide his weak ass on defense.
Panic signing, tbh. Not worth getting rid of Butler for this guy. I'd rather have Bonner than not, but I could live with him getting cut.
Not a panic signing at all - Warriors blow at defense and Spurs need to keep the pedal down. He's better than Green and Mills on offense.
Well, you explained the panic. The Spurs trying to beat the Warriors at their own game. How do you think that'll work out?
Warriors give up a lot of points - Spurs have issues in the past closing out due to not getting a bucket when needed, and not getting to the line. This is something I have been complaining about for years. This type of signing was something that was needed several years ago. Get a player that can get to the line or shoot the three. Plus - Spurs get rid of Bonner. No matter how Martin performs there will always be that piece.
KMart got picked up for his 3 pt shooting ability more so than for anything else.
All that matters is that Martin is an upgrade over Simmons and Anderson.
Agree with the second part of your statement, but not so sure how current stats are "so old".
what system?
Exactly
The data sample is from 2003-2009...
"Data sample
Regular Seasons: '03-04, '04-05, '05-06, '06-07, '07-08, '08-09 (thru 2/4)
Playoffs: '03-04, '04-05, '05-06, '06-07, '07-08 "
Also if the list includes players includes the likes of Ben Gordon, Rishard Lewis, Ricky Davis, Steve Francis, Michael Redd, etc... you know it's an old list LOL
remember when we were debating about regular season minutes . turns out putting a dleaguer in marco's place returns about 10-15 wins more and a lot of minutes less played by the big 3.
Martin urinated himself in the regular season so Spurs didnt even get to see him urinate in the playoffs. Unfortunate. Spurs needed a scorer.
