    - One of the best parts was the build up sound leading to the opening credits. GD thing went on for at least 30 seconds. I was mighty impressed.

    - Shocked they killed that pretty blonde off. I thought she'd hang around at least for one more season.

    - Too busy, but, still enjoyable.

    - That one woman (the one trying to talk Eugene out of going out there)...GD, she is just a pure sexual en y. Drives me nuts. What a casting decision.

My favorite moment in this series remains when the black guy got bit (forget his name) and they drove off with him in the car. The camera catches 'em on the crest of a hill quite a distance off. The camera stays back, never moves. The car stops, all four doors open and they pull him out and lay him on the road. Rick straddles him, to check, then mimes, in body language agony his passing (as only Rick can do). Now they did this out of self preservation. They did not want him turning in that car. The kicker? They did not show us Rick ending his life for the final time. We did not need to see that. And the production held fast their restraint out of respect for us. That's extremely rare in film whether it celluloid, or "tape."

Then we're treated to the reverend delivering his prayer over a dug & buried grave of fresh American earth:::

    We look not
    at what can be seen,
    but we look at what
    cannot be seen
    For what can be seen
    is temporary,
    but what cannot
    be seen is eternal
    For we know that
    if
    the earthly tent
    we live
    in is destroyed,
    we have a building
    from God,
    A house not made
    from hands,
    Eternal
    in the heavens,
    In the heavens

    It's this series finest hour.

It has moments, but, they're scarce. They have to constantly guard against turning into a soap opera, and each week they fail in episode seams. They've become lazy as the years pass by, and that's a shame.

It's still serviceable and the only series I watch, though semi-religiously.

I agree, that was a well directed episode and got me looking forward to the next one. Still for me -it's that last fight between Rick and Shayne out in the middle of nowhere... its pitch black...the lighting was perfect on Shaynes face when he decides to put a bullet in Rick. Rick uses his wits to manuever Shayne into a compromising position and ultimately wins the battle for his wife and child. Then Carl comes out of nowhere and shoots Shayne when he turns. Brilliant bit there

Game Of Thrones isn't immune to turning to .

In fact, a number of us once die hard fans are already lamenting the show turning to .

It's not yet there, but several surviving characters are.

I'm not sure I hold much hope for this next season's saving the series.

But, yeah, Walking Dead has had about 6 memorable episodes the last 3 seasons or so. After JSS last half season, the show really suffered.

Pretty good episode. The end doesn't give me a lot of hope going forward though. I was hoping this would force them out of Alexandria.

The zombie apocalypse and the zombies themselves are now an afterthought; background noise. It's now all humans vs. humans. It's a shame.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again. The zombie apocalypse is a setting, nothing more. It could work with a virus or nuclear warfare just the same. Once all structure is gone, and resources are limited, true human nature will come out. An animal is most dangerous when they're hungry, humans are the same. So yes, you'll worry about that group of people down the road far more than a rotting corpse walking aimlessly in the woods.

I'm not defending everything the show has done, but on this note I have no beef. You can only do so much if you depend on mindless zombies to be the show's primary antagonist.

    Well put.

The supply of zombies is, after all, finite to a large degree. I am the kind of nerd who wonders what happens in 200+ years after such a thing. New nation? How do you build a city, if one dead person can cause a wave outbreak.

And they're giddy with it. Can't wait for their turn to talk, talk, talk,,,get their speech onto the white canvas of life.
