    Your line of reasoning could easily be reversed...that he gave Bonner minutes because he knew this was it for him...but I don't think either is the case.

    Yes I think they made the decision already and this game wasn't going to sway them any other way. If anything like you I feel the Spurs would showcase the guy they were more likely to cut to allow his agent footage that would help that guy get another deal.

    the notion of showcasing a guy is like a decision that is above the pay grade of Messina. Messina was instinctively inserting the players he believed could make a good contribution. Well, it turns out that he thinks it is Bonner over Butler. That is clearly evident here.

    I would not make the same conclusion if Pop was coaching. But with Messina coaching, the truth is more transparent.

    I do not give 2 flying s if he's a good team mate and friend...I care about what he does on the court.
    He can be a coach or throw balls at players, not take up a ing roster spot whilst we're in the fight for a championship and we have a team like the Warriors to go up against.

    Still don't understand why ppl insist on hating Bonner for Pop's mismanagement of him. I for one am glad he's still putting on a Spurs jersey, and will be equally happy if/when he joins the coaching/FO staff. you haters.
