Sounds pretty messed up but some similarities with the Broncos season (Bowlen/Holt? & Peyton/Timmy).....hopefully Spurs cap the season with a 'ship tbh....
Holt is clearly protesting the Butler cut decision
If it were anything OTHER than health he'd probably wait until the offseason.
I want to beat them at full strength and I predict that will happen. We will get #6, tbh.
Best owner in the NBA is not a trivial loss, tbh.
Cheers to two decades of greatness Mr. Holt.![]()
Let's hope for the best for him.
Just be glad that he's left the team in good hands with his wife, and this isn't a situation like we see way too often where kids squabble over the team (or there's a divorce) and leave it in disarray.
Seriously, this is a big deal no? Even if we don't notice any immediate impact, you would have to think this could trigger some serious change down the not-so-far road. Between spending, power struggles, and possible sale of the team? Makes me nervous.
You are talking about a change in ownership, possible retirement of Duncan/Gino and then not too long after TP/Pop. That's a ton of change in what could amount to 4-5 years.
Hope things go well for Peter.
Certainly does sound like major health issues. Remember when all of us were wondering if the team was reacting to whatever news kept Pop in SA in that awful showing in Indy? Wondering if the big three knew something. Prolly not, though.
It's been a great run. Rick Pych is a pro. Hopefully, the values at the top don't change much.
My gal did notice at the game at the target center last night that Tim and Tony weren't in street clothes on the bench. I'm wondering if they flew back to SA after the pacers game due to the possible health issue for Peter Holt.
Yep, get well soon Peter Holt.

I noticed the same thing and commented about it to someone today. Manu was there in street clothes, but I never saw either of the other two. Really wondered the same thing, exactly.
I thought the same, though Bowlen's departure wasn't as drastic as this. Let's hope it's not Alzheimer.
Alzheimer is actually the best case scenario (especially early diagnosis) rather than pancreas cancer or something similar.
Cherchez la femme
Alzheimer sucks. How is that a best case? Maybe in terms of life expectancy (not to sound morbid)
One of my twitter followers said his friend works with the team doctor and said that Pops wife was having surgery. That's the reason he missed the last two games. Don't know how true but take it as it is.
It's big. Agreed.
Very concerning. Holt is a great owner, just because he doesnt try to put his hands on everything.
You wonder if the wife and the co owner have the same personality.
Taking it with a grain of salt but thanks for the info.
Basically life expectancy, folks with early onset Alzheimer can function & live a normal life for a couple of years without poisoning their body (unlike cancer patients) to stay alive.
