Now we have to for the love of Christ find a TE.
anything would have been better than rolling with Hoyer for another season.
Now we have to for the love of Christ find a TE.
How would you feel about drafting a WR in the 1st round???
This. They had to try something to show they wont sit back and waste Watt's prime. If it doesnt work out then people are fired. If it works out then you are set at QB for 10 years.
I would be for it. Need some help outside of Deandre.
That or another offensive lineman. Brown is coming of an injury and the depth was suspect last year. I'd be for another real safety to put back there beside Jackson too.
Tashaun Gipson to Jags... 5/35
rough day for cleveland, losing Alex Mack, Mitc Schwartz, Travis Benjamin, and Tashaun Gipson
Seems like every day is a rough day for the Cleveland Browns
Connor Cook is a winner tbh
Coby Fleener to the Saints.... Luck losing one of his weapons DPG21920
Yeeeee gipson. Hopefully he bounces back lol
After thinking about it for a bit, this was really the only move Houston could make. They desperately need something that looks like a QB and they need it now. Every pick outside of Goff and Wentz is a crapshoot, so getting another QB in the draft means more development time, more QB compe ions and perhaps yet another stop gap vet. Osweiler is far from a home run, but he's a chance they had to take. Now they can draft even more depth and basically go BPA with every pick.
Plus having a legit RB now (if he's used well which he should have usage like Foster with his ability) is big. Brock isn't great, there was no better vet right now. It's not great, but it's not your money and you can only do what is realistic.
Im really interested to see what the Colts do. They don't have a lot of weapons at all and losing one (even as meh as Fleener) is still bad.
Fleener always did ok when he was the only TE healthy, but fell off once the depth was back. I think he will do well with NO, but nothing special.
That's the clincher. They overpaid, but they didn't put themselves in a bind. Still had plenty of cash left over to take care of other free agent needs.
Chiefs have had a lowkey impressive day 1. They kept some of their guys and now there's talk Sean Smith might go back on a big hometown discount instead of big offers from OAK/SF
Re ed spending 7 million on a TE when Brees can make any scrub look really good. And people keep wondering why our defense is historically bad year after year.
Chargers did all the right things for once in a day - Signed Travis Benjamin for WR 2/3 spot. Also boosts worst return game since 1981 statistically. Safety depth in Dwight Lowery. Pretty damn good DT in Brandon Mebane, still need more defensive depth however.
Afc south doing a lot of moves in free agency
Texans get: Brock Osweiler, Lamar Miller, Jeff Allen
ans get: DeMarco Murray, Rishard Matthews, Ben Jones, Matt Cassell
Jaguars get: Malik Jackson, Chris Ivory, Tashaun Gipson
Colts get:![]()
Breakdown of thew Osweiler contract:
If you are going to overpay for a player, this is how you do it. Every bit of the guaranteed money is front loaded into the first two years. Furthermore, the cap hit in 2016 is only 12 million, which gives Houston the ability to potentially keep making moves in free agency on top of the moves they've already made. The cap number starts to move into top QB money territory the second year, but that's expected.
So if disaster strikes(as it always seems to in Houston) they can part ways with Osweiler after two seasons with no extra cap hit.
Good stuff. I guess its do or die for Rick Smith
Haha the Broncos. Had no problem with them until you see these es on social media STILL trolling Carolina. They're more excited to beat Carolina than to win the SB...
