As long as Porker isn't part of the crew, I'm good.

Gotta admit that I am psyched for the possibilities for Martin. One possible/probable outcome is that
Green turns up the intensity by having a capable replacement behind him. Green seems to have responded well to
pressure coming from within the team. This team desperately needs to become more of a 3pt threat. When/if that happens,
we can compete with anyone. We lose a bit of defense, but we are fine in that respect. Kmart is a good fit for our needs now.

Can't wait for his first 3 to drop.

Is this guy a end of season rental or will he be around for a while?
If he plays well he could be back next year. Duncan/Gino will likley retire.

I think Martin is what Spurs had hoped to get out of Jimmer but didn't. Hopefully he turns out for us like Pop hopes.

His form is awful but the release seems to be quick enough to offset it. He never could have hit that many 3s if the form was bad enough to be unusable.

His form is rough but it's a non factor. Doubt Chip does much to it since he's had success from behind the 3pt line.

Has a team ever relied on Rasual Butler to be a primary option in his luxurious NBA career?

    "Illustrious" perhaps?

If Martin comes in and starts hitting shots right away, Green will go the way of Bruce Bowen and find himself on the bench OR with less playing time. His defense hasn't been good enough to make up for his lack of offense. Green's play may not hurt the Spurs against lesser teams but against some of the potential playoff opponents, it will.

extremely comfortable, elegant, or enjoyable, especially in a way that involves great expense.

I think you can let that go already. This dude hasn't done squat yet.

If and when he does show up in a few playoff games and hit a few Marco Belinelli sized ballsy shots for us I will give you props, for now I reserve the right to be skeptical.

Hopefully he does for us what Pop is hoping he can do.

Ok. I ed up using the wrong word that tmtsc called me out on..

And seriously why does everybody think I've got a man crush on Kevin Martin??. I just called out Chinook on saying Butler is the better player..which is ridiculous.

Not going to speak for Chinook, but I believe he questioned his fit in our offense.

Regardless, not going to get on any of you all's feud. Just let's see the man play b4 we crown him. I wasn't gaga about Butler either. He was a situational player with usefulness in some matchups. Martin is something else. I think he offers whatever Pop was hoping to get from Jimmer, but Jimmer didn't provide it and got cut. I think Martin has much better chances of bringing that instant offense, but I want to see it when it matters b4 I join this congregation.

You seem like an intelligent poster and I respect that..

I somewhat respect Chinook but he gets emotional and either loves or hates a player (Danny Green/Kevin Martin) and sometimes speaks with his heart and not his brain..

Martin is going to be a great pick up for the Spurs. He's not afraid to shoot the ball from 3 and can also drive to the basket. He's more than just a perimeter shooter, he's a scorer. The Spurs - no matter how good their defense is - will need more points against the likes of Golden State.

The scary thing is he will probably more open than he has ever been in his career if he can just knock down the shots. He averages in his career 17.6 ppg and just last season averaged 20ppg. Didn't have the same numbers this year since he didn't play as much. It was a huge upgrade with this move.

What does Kevin Martin bring, Pop? “Kevin’s’ basically a scorer. He’s an experienced NBA player and he scores."
