I heard him speak on evolution. He is bat crazy.
People that are not in science don't get that the almighty "Doctor" can forget, or wish to forget, the most basic science. I know because I have met them. There are many people who have so narrowed their field of study that the big picture passes them by. And many older doctors, like Carson, are not the least bit interested in keeping up.

Then you have the real thinkers like Stephen Jay Gould, Issac Assimov, Richard Feinman... Don't ever confuse these types with a medical doctor. Trump is quite possibly much more intelligent, whatever intelligent means, than Carson.

To be a neural surgeon you had to go through the usual route of residency, general surgery and then neural surgery. Then to be one of the only doctors capable of separating twins conjoined at the head when neural surgery wasn't a fraction as advanced as it was today, you had to be something special. Carson IS a genius, he's not a good politician and extremely religious though.
