serious question, what was the ing point of putting "Cloverfield" in the le? Are they trying to make it like a new Twilight Zone thing or a "National Lampoons" thing where it's just different stories from the same genre but no connection?

I seem to recall "Cloverfield" was the fake name Hollywood gives films they ship so they don't gather unwanted attention. This one stuck.

This film has nothing on the first installment of these types of JJ Abram's films. For different reasons though. It had its moments. Too little of the sci fi stuff, too much of on-his-last-few-months obese paranoid Goodman who I'd liken to be like Avante.

Solid B movie. 6.5/10

Have your zapper on double or even triple speed. You won't miss anything. I stopped a couple times to get key dialogue. That's about it.

I was disappointed as well. The first movie gives you hope that something might be redeemable in this iteration, but it falls on its face fast and Goodman alone cannot save it.

Agreed...film had potential but took a turn for with the alien stuff. Felt like the writers ran out of patience and creativity by the last third of the film.

Same. This was Goodman's finest hour. You have to really be nitpicking to say the ending overshadows it.

My thoughts exactly!! That would've been a cool twist and perfect ending. Should've stopped there.

Not only do they screw it up by keeping the movie going, they have her blow up an alien ship with a bottle of whiskey. GTFOH
