"I'll take point guards that Derrick Rose is better than for $200 please, Alex"
Don't think we are playing the Lakers again.
Now I'm worrying about all of these guys being distracted about the Holt situation. The big three and Pop were pretty close to him, I think, and I don't think this change in CEO status reflects anything good for him.
We haven't lost all year so why start, 5-0
Im liking this a lot tbh GoSpursGo
I'll go 5-0, with the Thunder game being the toughest.
Even though they just beat the Clippers, they've still struggled mightily against elite teams and in general recently, so they'll have a high level of motivation, plus they're due to play better and always play with supreme confidence against the Spurs. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocated.
Since the Clippers game should be fresh in their minds, plus the Clippers being due for some regression, I'd expect the Spurs to have the motivational advantage.
Though clearly better than widely believed, arguably no one is due for some regression like the Trail Blazers. It's ongoing as we speak and should continue.
That leaves the Warriors. Due in large part to the over hyped blowout from January, the Spurs will play with playoff like intensity. They'll probably feel like they need it more for their own psyche than anything. As such, I suspect the game plays out similar to the one last April.
we better not lose to this overrated OKC team.losing at at home to the Wolves..Durant/Westbrook both played 37 mins..
tired of Spurs laying an egg in a marquee match-up on National tv..
5-0
Obviously, I'd like to see them go 5-0, but I just thought about something...
Our 5th to last and 3rd to last games are against the Warriors...the first at Oracle, the 2nd at home.
I know this is unlikely, but I think it would be hilarious if we ended their home streak (especially if they end ours) and give them their 10th loss, then turn around and hand them their 11th loss two days later![]()
I doubt they'll lose 3 more games between then and now but just a pretty crazy scenario to think about
Solid win last night...2-0 so far on this homestand
Iguodala is out for 2 weeks with an ankle sprain so he'll miss the game on Saturday. Obviously GS is still extremely dangerous without him, but honestly we really should win that game at home. If we can just not the bed against LAC (a big "if" unfortunately), I think 5-0 has a good chance of happening.
Yep..Iggy is their 4th most important player, and they are still without Ezeli(100x better than Varejao or Speights)..a loss would be pretty demoralizing, despite being just a RS game, considering the Warriors have serious injuries and the Spurs just lost to them in embarrassing fashion..
Clippers getting rolled at home by Cavs..Another team that will come out for blood against us next..
Anyway, sounds like Blake is still far from returning withe his quad acting up..OKC is probably going to hold on to that 3rd seed..
You're a real got, you know?
This home stand against the best of the West may be the catalyst that forges this team into a Championship contender. To get that final edge, you take a sword from the kiln and plunge it into cold water. We've seen it here five times before. A really good team suddenly acquires an iden y, a swagger, a trust among the guys and a belief that they can win it all--a Championship team personality if you will.
I think last night was more important than just another home win. Who really gives a about a home win streak? The important thing was they got behind in game where the shots weren't falling and kept working their tails off on defense and came from behind to beat OKC. Do you realize how demoralizing that is for OKC. The Spurs shot a horrible percentage but still beat them by holding them under 90 points!!!!!!
I remember the 99 team as a team that wouldn't quit. I don't know how many times they came from behind to win a game, but it got to the point where you felt like, "Oh boy, we're behind in the 4th. We have those bas s right where we want them." That was their personality.
New team, new go to guys, Big 3 still around and contributing. I don't know how far this team will go--but I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the ride.
I think I'll be pretty surprised if the Spurs lose on Saturday, tbh..seems strange to say, considering they are going against a team that is on pace to break the all-time wins record, but with Iguodala/Ezeli out + homecourt + the motivation the Spurs will be playing with following the 30-point embarrassment, a loss would be pretty disappointing..
5-0 we must protect this house!
They're getting them on a B2B as well. Might help us in the 4th
don't care as long as paul gets injured and spurs blow out the warriors.
Haven't complained much about refs this season, but unless we get some very specific zebras, I think we're going to be playing 5 on 8, tbh...
You guys know Lillard is gonna be looking to prove a point to LMA on Thursday, right? They had problems last year and then LMA takes an ASG spot over him this year. I see Lillard going off and scoring at least 30. It will be a tough one with the Spurs looking ahead to Saturday. We'll pull it off, but it will be tough.
^^^^ So at least 4-1?
As much as I hate Lillard, he and McCollum both may feast on us. And I have a ton of respect for the way that the Blazers rebuilt on the fly this off-season after losing 4/5 of their starting line-up. The holdovers will be out for blood.
I hate that this game is the game immediately before our big game against the Dubs. Portland's backcourt will put some wear on ours, making the matchup against Curry/Klay even tougher.
Plus, we just had a great offensive outing against the hated Clips. No doubt we will struggle next game to find offensive rhythm and/or production. We are Spurs; that's what we do.

Lillard gets 32 points on 30 shots. McCallum shoots 5/8 makes 16 points but is frozen out by Lillard. Spurs win, 106-93
