Yes, the Spurs have their best Point Diff ever, and we see that a lot in the media and in blogs.

However, the Spurs are shooting 80.2% from the FT line as a team this season. This currently ranks them 2nd in the NBA behind the Knicks.

Yes, I know. If it weren't for Tony, it would be better so please stifle yourselves you clown trolls.

Helps when you have Aldridge shooting FTs at a decent rate compared to having Splitter

I think I mentioned this earlier It's crazy to think of the Spurs as a top FT shooting team but they are. They are also 2nd in overall FG% and 2nd in 3PT%

Traditionally, you get used to seeing the Spurs' defensive system being one of the most difficult teams to score on 1) within 5 feet of the basket and 2) from around the arc. Good mid-range shooting teams typically can do some damage on them...as long as they can keep pace offensively with the Spurs and score from mid-range in the 4th quarter.

One thing teams haven't seen before from SA is that FT stat line. KMart was a smart addition because he's a career 87% FT shooter and he is one of the best at getting opportunities.

To tie into the OP - until recently on the flip side of this SA was one of the least foul prone teams too. So hard to get FTS vs SA then SA heavily capitalized on the ones they themselves get

Kawhi leading the team in FTs, going 234/265, Aldridge a close 2nd at 215/251. Our worst FT shooter thats still currently on the roster is Diaw at 72.6%

Too bad we average the fewest FTs per game in the league at 19.9

Speaking of point differential, I sometimes see lists of "best point differential through XX games." Where is that list? I guess a scraper script could compile that but I can't find it already done.

Aldirdge shooting ibstead of splitter and kawhi raising his average by 8% is probably the main reason why.

Probably due to the amount of shots we take that are wide open.

Hard to foul a guy when he's 6+ feet away from you, unless Joey Crawford is on the court.

This is true. I wasn't getting at that we suck at getting to the line or anything, just that it kinda sucks that we're #2 in FT% and we don't really get to reap the benefits
