Spurs scored 51 in the first half and swapped ends scoring only 37

Hornets scored 36 in the first half and swapped ends scoring 55.

    Question for discussion

Could there have been a basket that was NOT properly aligned on one end?

Both teams scored at will on one end and could not get the ball to fall at the other. I have seen a lot of games where a team scored and went cold on one end but can't remember one quite like this. One where both teams were cold on one end and hot on the other.

Are you saying something was wrong with the rim?

It's happened. I've seen games delayed because someone noticed a problem with a rim, and they had to fix it.

That's not what happened last night. The rim didn't cause what? 6 turnovers in the third quarter. And a lot of those shots in the second half clanked so much iron that they weren't even close. That's not the rim's fault. The Spurs just lost that game. If you think back, they started going to in the second quarter, on the same rim where they made all those early shots. I think they got so far ahead that they lost focus. Sometimes it's really hard to get it back.

No if you watched the game you'd know the Hornets simply applied a lot I f pressure on defense getting out in transition off of TO or blocked shots. They also got a few open 3s. The second half the Spurs didn't respond well to that pressure. Frankly TD was the only one who was very aggressive on both ends and blocked shots + got to the basket on PnR. The first half the pace of the game was a bit different and there were few easy shots for them, although by the 2 nd Q already they had started to apply defensive pressure.

Also, the guys who were cold, were cold the entire game, except Tony I guess and he wasn't cooled down by the basket, more like thought defensive effort and TO.

Hornets wanted it more. They took it. They even got to the line more.

leading by 20 points in the 1st quarter is a disaster ... I would lose focus as well ... and Charlotte is pretty good since the All-Star Break so they used their opportunity
