The book describes him as black, the question should be why do christians have a issue with him being black? If people want to push their bible on anyone, they should know the main characters nationality because the bible deals with nations. Hi Q, those are very good questions Sir. It's not that I don't find the time to read the bible, although my time is limited and valuable to me. It's that I do not feel I am ready to read some of the more contravercial passages with the proper perspective at this time. Personally, I feel reading the bible indescriminately is kinda doctorate level reading, whereas I am just beginning my spiritual journey. Sir, if I have presented myself as someone that feels superior or wiser than anybody here, then please forgive me, as that was definitely not my intention, and I believe no such thing. I am fully aware of my ignorance in the grand scheme of things and feel that all I can do is continue to learn each day and work towards becoming a better man, so that I can better take care of my sons and be a good role model. Now. ..do I think I'm above the pettiness and name calling that has perpetrated this site in the past half dozen years? You're darn right I do. And that's not to say that I haven't myself partaken in any of it during my sordid past. But we all have to grow up sometime. ..if we ever want to be anything of substance in our lives. Ok, so lets just assume J was black. What is the point you are trying to make? Does it change who he is and what he did for us? The color of his skin is of no consequence. Maybe one day in the Heavens, we will all see Jesus in a form that is most pleasing to us individually and that we can relate to best. I would have no problem bowing down and washing the feet of a black Jesus...it would be the highest honor.
Sir, once again, are you aware that movies are generally made to make money? You do that by knowing your target audience and giving them what they want. And that is not to say that there aren't millions of upstanding black christians in this world. It's just that there are far more white and hispanic ones, and they are more apt to go see a movie with a caucasion Jesus.
