The world champions are around 160wpm. This is bogus. Professionals do between 75 and 90.
jobs? Austin American Statesman.
Cooler ones? Programmers at Apple, Google, etc...
160wpm, wtf are they typing?
is touch typing faster then speech typing?
43 races, 117 WPM.
I'm in the 99.7% percentile, yet I'm only 23-20 in my races.
130wpm at normal typing speed without many mistakes. If I type as fast as I possibly can I hit 145-150, but there's too many mistakes and it makes my hands tired. I play games and do data entry as a job. If I'm typing, "carefully" then I'm about 110.
It matches you against people in your percentile range, so you probably won't win much more than 50% of the time.

Barbara Blackburn – She holds the le of the World’s Fastest Typer for her ability to maintain a speed of 150 wpm for almost an hour and had a top record speed of 212 wpm.
Personally I'm in the 100-105 range with ~95% accuracy.
There are definitely bots in this program. My first race someone hit 227wpm.
I got 67 WPM and 92.5% accuracy but my shift key is getting stuck so I ed up capitalizing a few things.
I can type pretty damn fast. I'm dumbfounded that they don't teach typing at some schools anymore.
although I'm pretty amazed at how fast some kids can type with just their thumbs on a phone.
I would be surprised if you could type 3 words a minute, judging by the gerth of your fingers of course. Siri, must of been a godsend. I'm very happy for you and the rest of the fat fingered community.
I ed Siri in the ass right after you were conceived, son.
did u use your fingers when you " ed" her. If that's the case she or he must love you now.
Your speed:
65 wpm

The class is probably becoming less necessary with kids using the computers more frequently. One way or another they will learn how to type decently.
that's the thing though...they don't really learn decently. most are looking at the keyboard the whole time and pecking away with two fingers.
might as well just change the keyboard layout at some point
I can do 90-100 wpm any given day. That's most professionals that consistently use their keyboard. Plus, it easier when you are dictating notes than actually typing your thoughts. Dictating notes, i can up to 120 wpm with practice. I use to practice on Mavis Beacon growing up. I was like the Tasmanian Devil of typing.
But , I don't do that stuff now. It really is a nerd alert, but in a good way as you are at least making productive use of your time.
when i see people that have records on there of 200 WPM I honestly think it's artificial.
my accuracy is usually in the 91-98 range.
40-27, 117.9 WPM
