considering you said you didnt know he was in the league about 20 times before the Spurs signed him I find your op to be untrustworthy and an act of ty trolling tbh.

When the player is only good at scoring then ya lmao its not like he does anything else
You wouldn't know based off the box score that Draymond Green almost lost the game for the Warriors against the 76ers but hey Draymond Green almost had a triple double, so he must've been damn good that game!

Hey I was all for signing Martin. I'll admit his offense has been from meh to bad. I'm sure some of that is adjusting to a new team and getting comfortable with when he should shoot vs pass. His defense has been horrendous. I don't know that Butler would be any better, but so far Martin has disappointed.

Sigh! PATFO the only one to blame on this. Martin's performance was unacceptable.
    +1
    Sigh!
I didn't even bring this up but Martin, 1-9 shooting, was hidden on Roberson, played against the bench, and didn't give a single assist or rebound. He was better defensively in this game. I do believe he's put in effort, but why ppl give this guy a pass and hate on Kyle is just probably agenda driven.

I know he's a troll and don't really care to read anything he posts. That said Martin was a disappointment for a guy who is a scorer.
Hopefully he catches a groove. I agree this game was not representative of the looks he'll normally get, but that applies to everyone else but a couple of guys in that game. If we are hoping for some offense from him, he has to be better.

Butler not only shot better but his D was stellar each time he hit the floor. Always with a block or a steal to energize his teammates :-)
I still don't understand why Butler was cut instead of Bonner. I'm not happy at all with that move. Nothing against Martin, as this is a thread about him, but I just can't ever support Butler being cut over Bonner. Butler won me over big time with every little intangible that he bought both on and off the court, and the Spurs still cut him .

This is just speculation but he was at 30% from 3. I believe they wanted a more reliable shooter for a specific role. Hopefully Martin delivers for us when it matters, still remains to be seen but he's not helping his case.

Yeah, most likely was let go due to his shooting as I think they wanted him in as a 3 point specialist. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like he even focused on that, it seemed to me that he tried to bring a much more all around game and the Spurs didn't want that. It appears they were looking for more shooters. Again though, why keep Bonner? It's not like he brings anything more to the table than Butler did.

Yes, that one is Pop completely. Won't even attempt an answer.By all accounts Butler was a great presence in th locker room as well. Bonner is a morale/companion/mascot? Doesn't make sense for bball reasons.

Butler may have hurt himself by bringing more of an all around game rather than just focusing on 3 point shooting only. Really horrible of them to cut him for that when Bonner is still on the team. They could have even cut Simmons for him if they didn't think J. Simms would be of any use in the playoffs. I'm kind of glad Simmons wasn't cut though as I still really like him. I hope Simmons can make it and improve on all his flaws. I liked what he did last game against OKC and it gives me a bit of hope for his future and makes me feel that he still has upside.

I thought Martin was pretty solid outside of the last two games imo. Tried too hard against the Thunder, and didn't have a great shooting night against Memphis. His defense isn't great, but it has been serviceable so far. Like his ability to get to the free throw line on cheap fouls. Needs to continue to find his role with more minutes until the end of the season, but think he will be fine in a 15 minute a game role in the playoffs in certain matchups. Not afraid too shot, which I also like about him.

My concern is he didn't step up against the the Thunder. But I do agree with you, unlike Green and Anderson, he's unafraid to take the 3.

His defense though is also a concern, however I do like that he keeps moving in offense.

Martin is shooting 41% from 3 land. Just like with Danny, he's almost never going to shoot 2-5 for a game. Shooters tend to be streaky, some more than others.

Martin has the ability to score in volume, but I'd sa needs him to play 25 mpg, then their screwed. Give him 12 to 15mpg based on his scoring or spurs scoring and call it a day. He's been no worse than green or patty

Where are you getting the 41%? Is that for a certain time period?

Ya. Last three years with TWolves larger sample size:
    .387
    .393
    .369

Other then 2013 with OKC at .426, he hasn't sniffed 40% since 2008-09 with Sacramento.
His 2 point shooting is even worse. Since he doesn't really pass, rebound or play much D I don't see what the f the purpose of this pickup was.

    Experiment over.

He's a Manu insurance, if Manu is healthy then he won't play much. In any case, he's getting the shots he wants but he didn't play much for the Wolves after December so needs time/reps to knock off the rust.

He looked fine against Miami when his shot was falling, it's not like he was out there jacking up bad shots like Gary Neal.
