    Interesting Spurs & Warriors Stat

    1st 24 games of season Spurs and Warriors....19-5 vs. 24-0 or 79.2% vs 100%
Records of Spurs and Warriors since..............46-7 vs. 45-9 or 86.9% vs 83.3%

Now these last 4 games with some rest involved with skew the metrics some, but it does not take away how impressive the Spurs' record have been this season.

if we extrapolate the most recent data:

Warriors will score 44 points per game.
    Spurs will score 84.

    Blowout city.

that 30-point blowout has skewed the perception of the Spurs as far their threat level to the Warriors when in reality they have BEEN neck-and-neck with them from when GSW 24-0 streak ended..

Nice stats and find! It looks like the Warriors, while not fully struggling, are experiencing a few hiccups down the end stretch, which won't really cost them their 1st seed but may cause problems for them in the playoffs. After watching the last Spurs vs Warriors game, I liked what I saw from the Spurs and their chances against the Warriors. If you compare the way the Spurs defended the Warriors to how the Blazers did (one of the worst at defending the perimeter,) you can see just how much the Warriors are bothered by having their shots contested nearly every time they shoot. During the Blazers and Warriors game, none of the Blazers' bigs, or even their guards, would fully commit to the switch. There was one possession where Plumlee did a haphazard switch, remained too far away from Curry, and only really contested the shot after the ball was released, which led to Curry getting some really nice wide open shots in his range. If you compare that type of defense to the Spurs' perimeter defense, which caused (no one in the media will admit it) one of Curry's worst shooting performances in recent years, you'll see the Spurs have a really good chance at beating the Warriors in a series.

that 30-point blowout has skewed the perception of the Spurs as far their threat level to the Warriors when in reality they have BEEN neck-and-neck with them from when GSW 24-0 streak ended..
Exactly, everyone saw that blowout game and thought it meant everything and was indicative of the Spurs' chances to beat the Warriors a little too early in the season.

My favorite weird Spurs/Warriors stat is that no team in the league has beaten both of them this season. Between the two teams, they have 21 losses to 20 different teams (Spurs lost to OC twice).

Yup...it's still theoretically possible for both teams to get to 70 wins. Not gonna happen, but still mathematically possible, at least until tomorrow night. Spurs are tanking that game. Book it.

I'm not sure, I think it is so close to the end of the season where they might just go ahead and tank it, but I can also see Pop playing it as a usual game and maybe prevent the Warriors from breaking the record by 1 game.

We'll deny the Dubs in SA, don't worry.

It's amazing the Warriors are possibly 4 games from 73 and 9 and haven't clinched home court

Everybody knows the Dubs are tough at home this season. Losing tomorrow's game doesn't affect anything, one way or the other.

I think that sending a message that they can't win in SA might be worth going all-in on the game here. I'm sure some people will insist that Pop decided to go for 41-0 at home. I can't see anything to gain by playing starters long minutes at GS tomorrow, if he even plays all the starters.

Usually, we talk about SPAM and the Spurs going on some tear that begins around the RRT or no later than March 1.

This year, they were 50-9 at the end of February and are 15-3 since. 15-3 would be among the better SPAM records during the Popovich-Duncan era, but this year, it actually represents a slowing of their overall pace, at least from a percentage standpoint. Their winning percentage through Feb. 27 was .847 (69.5 win pace); their winning percentage in March/April is actually only .833 (68 win pace).

Whatever happens from now until the middle of June, it's been an incredible Spurs season.
