That died when Ferrari left.
2012 Spurs-Won 20 games in a row.10 reg and 10 in post season playing marvelous ball. The defense wasn't good enough. The Thunder overachieved on shooting ridiculous % on long two's.Regress to the mean and choked vs Heat in Finals.
2013 Spurs-The best Spurs team and one of the best teams not to win a championship.
2014 Spurs-All Time team
2015&2016 Spurs Slow it down ISO ball-1st round KO last year and either 2nd round loss or repeat 2001 WCF annilhation.
Parker,Manu,Diaw aged half dozen years since the beautiful era.Danny Green got paid and lost in the scheme.Duncan aged 10 years overnight.Tiago Splitter to David West.![]()
That died when Ferrari left.
OP contradicts himself.
OP wrong on everything tbh...
Spurs are still a great team brother
Theyre just running into the best team we have seen since Kobes 2001 Lakers and Mikes Bulls
Still the same game, even better record in the RS, only there was no juggernaut like this in 2014. Even the Heat were never that good, not even close. GS played better defense than offense, if you can believe that.
The team just hasn't been the same since Parker regressed tbh
also the loss of Ferrari, Cojo, etc
Mainly cause Pop still plays him.![]()
2014 Finals Spurs don't beat this Warriors team. Their only weakness is boredom.
Like Patty isn't an even bigger liability on defense![]()
All about the personnel... we've won before the beautiful game with more top heavy talent too... just gotta keep going at it...
2013 Spurs has a good chance imo
This team we have can beat them.
Better equipped than the 2014 team.
We need 4 guys to score buckets inside. Boris, KL, Tim, and LMA (Tim and LMA on put backs)
We need 2 guys to also hit jumpers. KL, LMA.
And we must play D like we did in SA. That's bigger than the scoring issues we had.
We need to beat them up. Draymond Green needs to get punked down low. Boris is fully capable, I hope Aldridge is.
Lmao without the refs yall aint .
This 1000000x
Yeah, this ISO game is destroying the passing game the Spurs have always been known for. We've become a 2 man team, instead of a 5 man team.
Still, from what I've seen, our problem with GS is more mental than physical, imho. We look totally nervous out there on both of our losses in Oakland. I haven't seen them like that against any other team. That is something POP needs to deal with.
Spurs cannot play The Beautiful Game against GSW and win. They have copied TBG with younger, more athletic players and the MVP to boot. The only chance Spurs have is to slow the game down and pound it in the post. Parker needs to bring the ball down, pass in the post to LMA, KL or Diaw and stand at the corner 3 point line. And DG going on a streak at the 3 pt line starting in the 2nd round would be good too.
Without the refs there's no NBA. He's not part of the Warriors' fan base, just some tweener fan who can't decide if trolling is better than basketball. Still, the refs didn't hold the Spurs to 15 in the 1st.
That's what Parker has been doing. It makes him irrelevant. Put in Kyle if you want to slow the game down. He's much better at slow than Parker...by a lot.
I've been preaching this for awhile. I'm not advocating for motion offense but to just stop limiting our options on offense to two guys.
It's painful to watch Anderson and Manu at the same time against this team. It's like they are going in slow motion while everybody else is sped up.
Parker looks slower than both. I'm constantly amazed he can get it over the half court line in time. If he ain't driving, he's a liabilty. Kyle rebounds, passes, and defends better than Parker. Parker drives better...but, he ain't been doing much of that lately.
Spurs are in a tough situation. The rise of Kawhi has changed the type of basketball played to more iso basketball. This was evident in first round exit last year when Spurs had trouble scoring. The Spurs need to focus on more ball movement...aka Anderson at the helm but not sure how Kawhi will react to moving to a role position.
