Dummy, Kawhi's jumper was off tonight but he was solid in other areas. If the starter could have hit a couple of OPEN shots, this could easily have been a W. The most important takeaway is that the Spurs CAN control the pace when LMA is rolling & he went up against their FULL frontline. Diaw could be a dependable 3rd scoring option since Porker can't get to the rim against the Worriers & provide dribble penetration.

D-West seems playable when the pace was SLOW & Kyle/K-Mart didn't look like a fish out of water for the 2nd match-up in a row so they should be rotation players against the Worriers.

    LMA/Tim
    Diaw/West
    Kawhi/Kyle
    Danny/Manu/K-mart
    Porker/Patty
    How about Miller over Mills?

Agree with you KStorm and Kmart and Mills can be interchangeable.

His jumper was off but Kawhi plays this thing called "defense", which was the theme of tonight's match-up.
I love Kawhi....and I know he's our best defender. "His jumper was off" is an understatement.

It's okay to admit he had a bad game

Spurs going on a slump at the end of the season, just like they did in '11 and '13 (i think, i know it happened twice this decade)

If neither of your Starting guards can score...can you really expect to win anything?
It's a concern for the offseason, but we need better guards. At least 1 younger guard who can make plays off the dribble.

Wouldn't call it slump. They have the #2 seed locked up and we know Pop likes to start resting players. We just had to face the Dubs twice in 4 days and would have destroyed the Nuggets if everyone played.

Diaw might help, if Determined Diaw plays rather than Coasting Diaw. That's a big variable and he is a bench player, to boot. He is not the difference maker.
Who do you think is the difference maker?

I'm strictly speaking in terms of wins and losses. Even if there's a good reason for losing, it's never good to end the season with a flurry of losses.

Right now they're 6-4 in the last 10, and could very well lose one or both of the remaining games, since they'll rest starters and Dallas will treat it like a playoff game. I made the comparison to 2011 when they finished 4-6, and 2013 when they finished 6-4.

I see your point. I do think the slumps in 2011 and 2013 (they had a strong playoff run though, before 6 happened) were much worse and more reason to be concerned.

Im not super bummed tonight. GS is an awesome ing team. People talk about the three point shooting but they are ALL AROUND good. What pissed me off though are their bigs camping underneath the bucket for offensive rebounds. Yeah we got many more offensive rebounds but most of that was in the beginning and we didnt even score off of those rebounds. After that they started having their bigs right under the basket...what the ??? The boxing out sucks!!!

Another thing that killed us is in that first quarter we couldnt score on some easy baskets. We had em on the ropes but didnt capitalize.

Can't take much out of these last 10 games with Pop tinkering with the lineups. I have seen teams finish the regular season strong and still falter in the playoffs and I have seen the opposite where a team looks like in the final 10 games and ends up winning it all. The most important thing is the spurs will be healthy for the playoffs.

I love Kawhi....and I know he's our best defender. "His jumper was off" is an understatement.
He had zero turnovers, led the team in rebounds, assists, blocks plus had 2 steal. Klay/Barnes/Draymond didn't score on him when he was guarding 'em so I'm not sure what more he could have done besides making his jump shots.

Thank you!! Kawhi is a battler, no doubt about that.
