Believe it or not, Byron Scott has what one source described as a “major chance” to stay with the Lakers; Jeanie Buss is said to be pushing for Scott behind the scenes.
This looks bad for the Lakers on the surface. Scott is a poor coach who has failed at offense, defense, player development and chemistry building.

Rockets owner: 'No uncertainty' about GM Daryl Morey's status

Rockets owner Leslie Alexander has given a public vote of confidence to general manager Daryl Morey after Houston's season of struggles.
In an interview with Houston's Fox TV 26 on Thursday after the Rockets clinched the eighth seed in the Western Conference, Alexander said, "There is no uncertainty [about Morey's status]. Daryl is with the team. We evaluate everybody, but right now things aren't changing."

Not like they can pick anyone worth a damn. And if they do, Byron will ruin them.

ESPN's Zach Lowe reported the Lakers are prepared to offer Toronto's DeMar DeRozan a max contract worth at least $25 million per season, calling DeRozan a “lock” to decline his option and explore free agency.

Derozan and KD are a good start. Then I'd throw mad money at Whiteside (I don't think Miami can keep him tbh.)
