Is there a post out there already highlightng what next years pay roll is going to look like? If so, can someone link the post. If not, can someone break it down for a dummy like me please. Thank you

Thanks. I can kind of guess but what do all the colors mean? Blue is player option? Red team option? Green is RFA? Purple???
Nice chart. Thanks for posting. Those things help a thread get some legit discussion.![]()
Sorry I didn't include that part.
Red is non-guaranteed.
Purple is team option.
Green is qualifying offer.
Blue is player option.
So the cap is going to be 92m next season, meaning the Spurs have some money to spend?
Thanks.![]()
you guessed 1 out of 4 correctly, BillMc...
I want Rasual Butler back on the team.
It's going to be very interesting to see RC truly earn his paycheck these next few years with Duncan and Ginobili potentially leaving.
Even more-so after Pop leaves...
2 out 4. When I said RFA that meant a qualifying offer.
The problem is, the cap increase goes to everyone. Most teams will have some money to spend. The best news, IMO is the players they have locked into salaries. But, yeah, they are going to be able to go after a good player with their cap room. Good players aren't going to go cheap this offseason. The price of poker just went up.
Dang man. Parker's contract seems Kobe-esque. Curry is slated to make $12,112,359 next year too. Ouch. Hope he can pick up his play and earn that pay when it matters.
Patty will earn exactly $1 more next year than this year.
ok... shows what I know. I wouldn't have gotten any probably!
While true- unless Golden State somehow scores Durant, I don't see much happening this offseason that is going to move the needle much except for the swirling mass of semi-contenders and Playoff hopefuls that always change hands and futile hopes every season.
I know you didn't bring this up, but I think, right now, gaining more continuity between Aldridge and Leonard and the adjusted system going forward is going to be more important than any player acquisition for this team.
That is, of course, assuming Duncan stays one... more... year. Just one more, big fella. Maybe two...
Edit: And finding someone to replace/play for/spell/DO SOMETHING for Tony Parker. That has to be a priority.
RC's problem not ours!![]()
Danny Green and Porker

With the salary cap increase Leonard's deal will be a bargain for the Spurs.![]()

Not Kobe-esque at all. Kobe made $25M this year with a $70M cap (36%). Parker will make $14.5M next year with a ~$92M cap (16%).
Don't get me wrong, I also think that Parker is overpaid for his production. But not near the level of Kobe.
Saying that Parker is overpaid compared to Curry is obvious, but Curry's production-to-salary ratio smokes everybody in the league, not just Parker.
Just saying, there are a whole bunch of free agents this year. Teams are going to have to spend to keep the guys they want, because the extra salary cap is going to let some other teams take shots at them. I'm not talking about which teams will improve - just that there's going to be a lot of spending. I'm with you on hoping Tim stays one more year. Add to that the hope that Boban will progress in the offseason, and live up to the potential we see.
Here's a list of some of the better unrestricted and player-option guys for this offseason. Doesn't matter how good everyone thinks they are, or whether they would fit on the Spurs. The point is, lots of them are gonna get paid.
Unrestricted:
Durant, Horford, DWade, Conley, Hassan Whiteside, Rondo, Batum, Al Jefferson, Ryan Anderson, Pachulia, Bazemore, Jamal Crawford, Deng, Jeff Green, Eric Gordon, Courtney Lee, Mozgov, Teletovic, Mayo, Speights, and a bunch more.
Player Options:
DeRozan, Pau, Dwight Howard, Chandler Parsons, J.R. Smith, Jeremy Lin, Afflalo, DeRon Williams, DWest. I'm sure I left some out, and I'm not counting guys like LeBron, Dirk, and Tim who aren't going anywhere else.
I know. I know there is a dearth of talent that may be moving around this summer. I just think that, unless a team like the Lakers with massive capspace can coordinate a Lebron-like summer with multiple stars joining up we're going to see faces and uniforms change, but the top hierarchy will remain the same: GS, SA and the Lebron's.
Yeah, you'll see some stronger teams rise, and some teams that didn't make the playoffs make it, but unless there's a Lebron-summer, there won't be a huge change in the NBA.
IMO.
GS got a huge discount on CUrry because when he signed he was in the middle of ankle rehab and it wasn't clear he was going to recover. He would obviously be a max player if signed now.
man, we're pretty lucky we got Kawhi and LMA signed before this cap gets ridiculous, going over 100 million in 2017/18? and that's the year Curry is a free agent, so he'll get what like 5 years 200 mil?
