    We are talking about 2000 and the Spurs were 3-1 during the regular season against the Lakers. Spurs had the mental edge that year and Laker fans did not want to see them in the playoffs.

    I was on the aol message boards back then and they were a ton of Lakerfans hoping Duncan's injury was legit when it was announced he had a knee injury. At Duncan wouldn't have made a differenct in '00 the Spurs were 3-1 against the Lakers during the regular season.

    OP's thread is re ed. It really comes down to Laker fans not wanting Duncan to get 6 and that's perfectly fine I can actually understand that. I was the same way in rooting against the Lakers from '08-'11. One thing I do laugh at is how Laker fans outside of Kool can't even admit they are rooting for the Warriors. If Curry broke his legs tomorrow you know Laker fans would be cringing.
