Trump as garden-variety Repug voter suppression advocate, pandering to the Repug establishment, while also pandering to his racist, xenophobic base.

There's no way a republican should have any business winning this election but I think Hillary Clinton is such a bad candidate that there is at least a 2-3% chance she could blow it. Cruz has zero percent chance and Trump has alienated a lot of people but who knows? He is a great salesman and showman -- this would be his greatest performance yet if he could pull it off and win (assuming he is the nominee)!

    he's a liar, a con man.

If Repugs had a healthy base, if Repugs had done ANYTHING for its base in the last 40 years, Trump wouldn't even be in the running.

He's a protest candidate, blatantly running of the racism, xenophobia, gun-fellating, LBGT hate that Repugs have been dog-whistling for decades.

One idea why the Repug establishment is so pissed about Trump is that "he stole their hate" and make is blatantly explicit.

Watch: Trump Thugs Threaten Potential Armed Insurrection at Contested GOP Convention

Trump says there will be riots if he is denied the nomination, a warning his supporters echo in this video.

We went to the April 20 Donald Trump rally in Ocean City, Maryland, to ask Trump's supporters how they would react if he did not receive the nomination at a contested Republican National Convention.

Many told us they were prepared to wage an armed insurrection against the powers that be, or what one Trump fan called "a civil war."

    Take a look.

Black and Latina girls walk off soccer field after whites chant ‘Donald Trump, build that wall’

White high school soccer fans chanted, “Donald Trump, build that wall,” at a group of black and Latina players from an opposing team last week in Wisconsin. Some of the players from the Beloit Memorial girls varsity soccer team walked off the field during the game Thursday at Elkhorn Area High School after they were taunted with racial slurs and the pro-Trump chant, reported WISC-TV.

“They came off the field and weren’t able to finish the game because they were too upset and distraught over what happened to them,” said coach Brian Denu. “One of the girls was cradled in the arms of one of our assistant coaches for a good 15 to 20 minutes.”

Denu said the chant came from a small group of Elkhorn students,

Latino players were taunted by white fans chanting Trump’s name during an Iowa high school basketball game in February.

Trump’s name was also used as a racial epithet during a high school basketball game in Indiana, where students held up large printed photos of the Republican presidential candidate’s face and chanted his name at Latino players on an opposing team.

Those fans also chanted “build a wall,” “No comprende” and “speak English.”

The "entertainment" aspect of his campaign gets him extra attention, but it's substance that is winning him the day in the GOP primary. Don't kid yourself.

The Loophole That Could Cost Donald Trump the Nomination

Pennsylvania, which holds its primary next Tuesday, uses a nonbinding “loophole” primary — and that could cost Donald Trump the Republican nomination.

If the state adopted the delegate rules of any other primary, he would probably be an even-money favorite, or better, to amass the 1,237 delegates needed before the convention.

Instead, his chances may come down to the whims of 54 unpledged Pennsylvania delegates.

No other state leaves so many of its delegates unbound — allowed to vote for whomever they please at the convention.

But PA is urban blue and rural red

My only fear of a Donald J. Trump presidency is how wildly successful it will be. I want him to beat Hillary but I don't want his greatness to rub off and be associated with the republican party which doesn't deserve the credit for his rise. It's a real dilemma, but it's one I'm ok with.

Maybe Donald Trump Has Really Lost His Mind: What If the GOP Frontrunner Isn't Crazy, but Simply Not Well?

Channeling his inner Sarah Palin, Trump’s rants often seem to lose any connection with reality at all. Take the example of Trump’s interview with the Washington Post editorial board in March. During that exchange one of the editors asked Trump if he would consider using a tactical nuclear weapon against ISIS.Check out Trump’s reply:

TRUMP: I don’t want to use, I don’t want to start the process of nuclear. Remember the one thing that everybody has said, I’m a counterpuncher. Rubio hit me. Bush hit me. When I said low energy, he’s a low-energy individual, he hit me first. I spent, by the way, he spent 18 million dollars’ worth of negative ads on me. That’s putting [MUFFLED]…

RYAN: This is about ISIS. You would not use a tactical nuclear weapon against ISIS?

TRUMP: I’ll tell you one thing, this is a very good-looking group of people here. Could I just go around so I know who the I’m talking to?

We have become so accustomed to these sorts of ramblings that we don’t really register them as anything more than standard nonsensical Trump-speak—a pattern of speech we have seen crop up across the GOP in recent years, most notably in Palin’s gibberish. But I urge you to re-read the exchange above and register the range of nonsense—the lack of basic grammar, the odd syntax, the abrupt shift in topic, the disconnect from reality, the paranoia, and the seeming inability to even grasp the question.

what if his campaign isn’t a sign of a savvy politician channeling Tea Party political rhetoric and reality TV sound bites? What if it’s an example of someone who doesn’t have full command of his faculties?

There could be a good reason why. At times it can be very hard to distinguish between extreme right-wing politics and symptoms of dementia. The Alzheimer’s Association tells us that if two of the following core mental functions seem impaired then it is time to seek medical help: Memory, communication and language, ability to focus and pay attention, reasoning and judgment, visual perception.

Alzheimer’s carries other symptoms besides memory loss including difficulty remembering newly learned information, disorientation, mood and behavior changes; deepening confusion about events, time and place; unfounded su ions about family, friends and professional caregivers; more serious memory loss and behavior changes.

Scholars of the recent trends in GOP politics point to some of the very same tendencies happening across the extreme right-wing faction of the party.

it is now often difficult to distinguish Republican rhetoric from the ravings of someone suffering from diminished mental capacity.

The next real warning sign was the doctor letter Trump trotted out to show that he was in fine shape. The Daily Beast jokingly said that the letter was more insane than Trump’s campaign. But, at the time, no one expected him to still be the frontrunner today. I urge you to take a look and re-read the letter now.

One might wonder how a physician could mess up the phrase “to whom it may concern” and not be asked for a revision from the Trump team, but the really disturbing tells are the reference to “positive” results (which in medicine means actually finding an ailment) and Trump being the “healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency” (a statement that can’t be proven).

Last October, Death and Taxes ran a piece wondering if Trump had dementia. They pointed to the fact that Trump’s father, Fred, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s six years prior to his death. They also highlighted Trump’s aggressive late-night tweets, his childish behavior, his name-calling and mood swings. They explained that it would be really easy for Trump take some tests and prove that he is mentally fit.

“Because if Trump can prove he’s not suffering from a degenerative neurological disorder that has left him with a damaged mind devoid of all shame or self-awareness, he might just be an asshole.”

One excellent example was John Oliver’s brilliant piece on Trump that ended by outing that Trump’s name had originally been Drumpf—a truth that was extremely ironic since Trump himself likes to mock others for their names.

Lee Camp’s Redacted Tonight reminded viewers that Trump speaks at a fourth grade level. That makes him, according to Camp, scientifically proven to be the dumbest candidate of them all.

But Camp’s joke is only funny if Trump is talking that way to attract voters who respond to his simplistic rhetoric.

It’s not funny if he really has lost the ability to speak like a healthy adult.

Trump University lawsuit will go to trial, NY judge rules

The lawsuit against Donald Trump’s self-styled “university” accusing it of scamming hundreds of students can head to trial, a New York judge decided Tuesday.

Eric Schneiderman, New York state’s attorney general, filed a $40 million civil suit against Trump University — an online program for would-be real estate investors — in 2013. He claimed the school used fraud and false advertising techniques to lure students with the promise that they could get rich — just like Trump.

The school has come under renewed scrutiny since the businessman became the front-runner in the GOP presidential race and touted that Trump University earned an “A” rating with the Better Business Bureau.

The agency said in February that Trump University no longer had any rating because it was believed to be out of business. While it had “A” ratings in the past under a previous name of the Trump Entrepreneur Initiative, it also collected ratings of “D-minus.”

Trump’s lawyer argued Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court that the fraud case against the university deserves a jury trial. The judge didn’t set a trial date, but said lawyers for both sides can submit arguments in regards to a jury.

Schneiderman said he wants a trial to move quickly in court after “thousands of Mr. Trump’s alleged victims have been waiting years for relief from his fraud.”
