Jinx thread TBH
Guess he really does turn it up for the playoffs. Spurs would have been damn near close to 73 if he played like this all the time.
Awesome to see but it's just one game at home. Don't get too high or low yet.
No...not at all. But damn good to see it. Should boost his confidence. At just the right time.
I wish Diaw would take those open threes he's been passing up.
Goodie for you.Danny Green ... never doubted him
I hope he continues like this, cause when he is this confident, he makes us sooooo much better on offense.
Was having a debate on RealGM with a guy who wanted the Spurs to trade Green for Batum. His only argument was "C'mon man, everyone knows Batum is better." Over and over, he found ways to rephrase that same retort. He didn't understand that guys like Batum can't hold Danny's jock strap. Games where Green scores over 15 points are almost guaranteed wins -- no matter the opponent. For all of his dribbling and overrated passing, Batum will never have that kind of impact.
I did. Still do.
If you didn't doubt DG...you weren't paying attention. He was terrible all season long offensively and in last seasons short playoff run.
If he can turn it on throughout the rest of the playoffs, it will be one of the biggest turn arounds I've ever seen in the NBA. Let's hope it becomes just that.
Great game for Danny. Not getting too high or low, but they have to guard him which is great! The shooting % is going to come down for him and others over the course of the series but he's showing he still has the shot.
Yeah, if this is what people think Green has to do to "earn their trust", then they are delusional. Green having his game was great, because it's quite the show of force. Danny can absolutely take over a game offensively, and keeping that in the front of opponent's minds is why he has such high gravity. He often draws Roberson away from Kawhi due to that, and that's just invaluable.
I know I am not the only one who's asshole clutches every time Danny has the ball atop the key and starts dribbling. You just see the turnover about to happen. Then he cross court passes and fortunately KL has a softball glove for a hand and caught it. At the other end Danny has the ball midcourt and you see him hesitate then passed up top to Tim, another liability to turn it over. I'd like to see KL or someone pop out to get that ball, because you know what's about to happen when Danny just steps across halfcourt and suddenly the ball is in his hands.
Im not sure. I think that Batums defensive capabilities are comparable to Green. Offensively t would give the Spurs the thrd dribble/passer they need. That first team offense is stagnant sometimes. Batum would allow more ball movement on the first team.
But why change anything when team is playing well and having a record season
Never doubted his defense but when he shoots like this we are unstoppable
Batum's actually not a plus defender. He has the reputation, but he's awful statistically. The first-unit is stagnant because they play iso-heavy ball. That's by choice, unfortunately. Even in this game, Kawhi and LMA were just hitting their shots at a ridiculous rate during that first stint. The offense didn't open up until the bench started mixing with them.
But they didn't need the offense to open up. If you're going to give Aldridge wide open 15' shots, you're ed.
Shot over 50% against Memphis as well.
Death sentence.
I doubted him. Played horrible this time last year in the playoffs
Batum would be a terrible fit in San Antonio. Hes not as simple as a 3 and D guy. Even in his days portland, he demanded pick and roll tocuhes. Same with Charlotte.
I'm not going to celebrate yet, but with Danny making his threes, yiu can vbet GSW scouts are going to advice coaches to have eyes on him. Thats huge for everyone. A few times late in the season he was dared to shoot...
