I wish I could disagree with you.
This is the worst offense I've ever seen from the Spurs. They don't deserve it. Worst shot clock management and there are no plays. It's a big jumbled mess. Little to no passing, they truly suck on offense and completely waste any good defensive effort
I wish I could disagree with you.
Too much isolation, and not enough ball movement. We have totally gotten away from Spurs ball to play Hero ball.
Pathetic. They looked totally clueless and disorganized for large stretches, as we've seen many times this season. It didn't matter against most teams, because they were flat out better (especially in the 1st half of the season, before the bottom fell out on most of the veterans), but I always knew this limited, 90s offense would be their undoing.
You can't beat an elite team, in a series, in '16, being 25th and 26th in 3-point attempts and makes when you're already a team that can't get to the line. A steady diet of post ups and mid rangers isn't enough, even if your defense is historically great.
Unlike Parker-Hero-Ball 4-12... Manu 1-4 Boris 1-6 DWest 1-4 Tim 1-6 , they missed good/open shots.
So move the ball, create good looks and pass the ball to...who?
Kawhi and Danny were the only two guys shooting over .50FG% tonight and Pop didn't even call a play for them in the last minute except the desperation 3.
Agree completely. Maybe the silver lining is KD this summer because OKC stands no chance in the wcf.... Should they get there.

Not so sure about that. They look confident and have a game plan that relates somehow to the regular season.
Spurs have completely jettisoned the regular season and are in meltdown/panic mode. OKC offers a stiffer challenge to GSW than the Spurs.
This is all on Pop.... I'm not say Boban an Martin is the answer, but if they're on the payroll, why not play them at least 5mins?? Even if we beat OKC, we'll be outta gas when we reach golden state. Kawhi an LMA both disappearing in the 4th. Idk what the Pop is thinking.
This Spurs squad makes them look confident, especially when they KNOW they'll out rebound the outta them.
gs is a completely different story. Green/bogut matchup well against stache bros, will limit their rebounds, klay will light up roberson, etc
I just see a gs team that simply has balls, something this Spurs squad lacks, sans Kawhi/LMA
Game 1: Kanter is on the floor? Put him in the pick and roll, profit.
Rest of the series: Hmm, let's iso him or worse just put his man on the other side of the court away from the play.
WTF Pop?
Yep the circa February version of this team would destroy the current version.
I could not have said it better. It's over for the old s. Finito. Manu and Tim are done. Parker needs to be elsewhered. They're trying to make West do too much because our bigs suck. I love the big 3 but I love the Spurs more.
This is exactly the same as last year except against an even more talented team.
It sucks to see them go out this way. I'm one of the most optimistic Spurs fans out there, but the writing is on the wall, in big bolded, underlined letters....in all caps
It's called father time and it finally caught up with the Big Two, tbh...
I disagree. Spurs are generating more open looks than OKC from the last stat I saw. Guys are just missing. Guys who have shown they can hit.
The offense while not beautiful is efficient in generating makeable looks at the spots it's designed to get shots from. Just missing.
The bench play is awful. I feel like they're the ones missing most of the shots
lol you must not have watched the 2000 Spurs then, or the 2001 team
That's what happens with two top 20 players in their prime. See Durant and Westbrook.
West & Patty definitely are missing. But look at LMA - how many great looks (either wide open pick and pop shots, or flat out chip shots) did he miss? Tim missing. TP had a bad shooting night.
Aye, I did my good man. Watched them since 95. Probably overreacting somewhat but at least the early Duncan teams had hope because Duncan was a playmaker and Parker could Westbrook his way to the bucket. They did get swept by the Lakers though.....
The team lacks a dominant scorer. Aldridge Game 1-3 was the closest we got. Kawhi puts up points but they are mostly of the fast-break or derivative variety. We just simply lack a reliable, dominant scorer in the half-court offense. We used to be able to rely on Parker and/or Duncan, but those days are long gone. The lack of a reliable scorer in the half-court offense really shows late in the game when everything slows down and tightens up.
Yup.
Theyre getting open shots left and right, just not making them. Is what it is.
well the 2001 lakers series was pre tony parker....
