You can argue this guy kills ball movement because the opposing team can live with him taking mid range and fadeaway jumpers

    He's a big man:
    • who camps in the perimeter
    • below average passer
    • below average rim protector
    • poor court vision
    • average offensive awareness
    • rarely rolls to the basket/no gravity when he does
    • not great at setting screens

He had 2 great games taking and making tough shots, other than that, how do you win when your second best player is strictly a midrange shooter?

And of course in game 5, a must win for the spurs, he didnt make the open shots he needed to make in the 4th quarter, was poor on the glass and was horrible defensively.

2 great games and 3 inefficient games from LA, not good enough

This is only LMA's second time ever he's made it to the second round of the playoffs. He's the overrated of bigs.

No, because Durant has proven he's a top 5 player in the league before.

How many big guys in the league do you think are better than Aldridge down low?

LMA got 2 fouls in the first 5 minutes. Tough to D up when that happens. At least one was a chicken call.

There is plenty of blame to go around, if you're into the blame game.

LMA is close to the bottom of the list.

the sad thing is he's shown glimpses of good defensive performances when he's locked in and he's looked good defensively on the perimeter and protecting the rim

but most times, he's a step slow and always in poor position to defend

If we are talking strictly down-low ability/performance:

Non-injured Blake Griffin, Draymond Green, Cousins if he gets his together/wasn't on the Kings, DeAndre Jordan just to name a few.. You can't really say LMA is good down low of Adams is totally bossing him around.. Most of LMA's production this series, which has nosedived since the first two games, comes from mid-range.

    LMAO

The Spurs wouldn't have won 67 games in the regular season, made the playoffs or won one game in this series, but all of a sudden certain idiots want to have "buyer's remorse."

Yeah, because the guy who is the "future of the Spurs" with a max contract really kicked ass, tonight. The team didn't lose because of just Aldridge, jackasses.

That foul on WB was pathetic. If you're fouling him knock him down.

He's the least of our problems.

The issues with this team are obvious (bench).

It's funny how winning changes perception. Westchuck has been by far the worst star in this series overall, but, Durant aside, OKC gets CONSISTENT game-to-game production from Adams, Ibaka, Kanter, and now Dion Waiters. Dion scored 9 points in 5 shots tonight. Our bench scored 11 points in 18 shots. How can you win?

Again with winning=perception. If LMA got some support during game 2, this is probably a different series. I think OKC losing that game would've deflated them. And we're here talking about LMA's 41 on 15-20 as one of the all-time great Spur playoff games.

I think he's performed well. So have Parker and Green. Kawhi's been a star. Duncan's wheels falling off and the bench being is what killed this team. Not LMA.

    "Worth it."

The Spurs got the split in OKC, they had control of their fate and lost Game 5. You cant lose 2 home games in a playoff series especially when you went 40-1 at home

And the bench never get open looks because of the things i mentioned in the OP, why leave three point shooters when you can let Aldridge shoot contested 2s?

Aldridge is the Carmelo Anthony of bigs, tbh..

It's funny, I lived in NY at the onset of the Melo era, and Knicks fans would relentlessly defend him with the same arguments that Spurs fans use to defend Aldridge

We'd be out of the first round if not for LMA.

The whole team has played collectively bad in the closing moments of games. Other than that, we've been solid. We cannot close a game out to save our lives.

OKC posted historically great rebounding numbers this season. We aren't winning that battle, especially now that Duncan's other knee went.

Also, the rebounding woes are related to the bench, since West and Diaw are getting killed on the boards. This is also Pop's fault, since he continues to go with that lineup for some inexplicable reason.

..but that is the battle the Spurs have to win......the Spurs need to get either Kanter or Adams in early foul trouble and play hack a Adams...
