At least Manu was hurt during that series, and Memphis wasn't a "real" 8th seed(they clearly tanked to get the Spurs)..there's no excuse for this potential OKC defeat, the Spurs are fully healthy(excluding the nagging injuries that plague every team this deep into the playoffs)..

As much as we all hate him here, I hope it's true that Kawhi spends some time with Kobe in the off-season, tbh..you don't want him to be a cancer like Kobe, but he needs to develop the mentality that forces him to demand for the ball, etc..

The real world odds were probably -125. Everyone here knew something was "off" with this team.
Hopefully, Team USA players ego rubb off on him. He was horrid in the fourth, not in terms of play but just general assertivness. What makes it worst is that he cant even demand the ball in a game he is playing well. Major weakness from our superstar..
Just realized most guys playing for team USA next year are "good guys" ..

The public's influence on the final number is nowhere near the difference between -275 and -125, bro..OKC is almost as much of a public team as the Spurs, too..
Most "credible analysts" had the Spurs as easy favorites, as well..

Tell me, in your mind, you weren't nervous going into this series? I doubt you would lay anyone 2.75 to 1. We've been closely watching and analyzing the Spurs all season. We know what's up with this team better than analysts and gamblers, who have to pay attention to dozens of teams.

Not really..I watched a ton of OKC games, this season, they're an extremely flawed team for a top-tier squad..
21-17 vs. +500 teams, bottom 10 defense vs. +.500 teams, 13th ranked defense overall, literally the worst team in the NBA in all "clutch time" metrics, etc..
I realize they have some matchup advantages, but it's still inexcusable, especially since the Spurs have had several double-digit leads in this series, including the games that they inevitably lost..I understand some things didn't go as planned(didn't think Duncan would completely collapse, for instance), and Durant won a game all by himself(which he's very capable of doing), but this 67-win team is playing vs. a team that struggled against +.500 teams, all year, and has a rookie coach..not to mention the Spurs had HCA, where they only lost 1 game, all season..
I continuously said the Warriors would easily beat the Spurs and there's no shame in losing to them, but blowing a series vs. this OKC team would be a huge blow IMO..

I beg to differ on the "fully healthy" thing. Duncan is not close to the level of play he had in December and January (before the right knee went). Manu almost lost a nut, Tony Parker got literally tackled by a runnaway football play from Westbrick two nights ago. KL got rolled up in the same game and LMA has a messed up hand and possibly a hip issue due to an OKC player sticking out a foot in game three I think..
I hate the sniveling OKC bas s. They can all rot in for all I care.

I agree that the overall season is a failure losing to this deeply flawed Supersonics squad. I just wish Tim had not lost the last bit of mobility he had. It would have made a difference in this series if he had been reasonably healthy. He was most certainly not healthy at all.
the parallels are definitely there as far as the spurs bigs getting manhandled, with the rookie euroleague mvp center on the bench
We also had a poor record vs. contending teams and against good teams on the road. OKC made me nervous when they pushed the Spurs at home sans Westbrook and Durant. They made me further nervous when they beat Dallas by 30 in Dallas. Yeah, the Mavs were flawed, but that's still a Rick Carlisle coached team with Dirk and a veteran rotation.
And for the past 3 months, Duncan has declined massively. Parker, before his good showings in games 3 and 4, looked done again. And the bench turned into the most inconsistent Spur bench of the last decade seemingly overnight. All these things conspired to force the Spurs into being a very top heavy team during that stretch, making the offense beyond predictable.
If Kawhi and LMA aren't combining for 50-60, it seems we can't win games against good teams.
Please do, the universe will reward that line of thinking with a Spurs win.
