2015-16 Euroleague MVP: Nando De Colo, CSKA Moscow
May 12, 2016 by Euroleague.net
Euroleague Basketball congratulates Nando De Colo of CSKA Moscow, who was named 2015-16 Euroleague MVP on Thursday at the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Awards Ceremony, one of the first official acts of the Final Four, at Alexanderplatz in Berlin, Germany. This season’s trophy for the top performer of the season was presented by 2006-07 Euroleague MVP Theodoros Papaloukas, who also won the award wearing a CSKA Moscow uniform. It was the third major award of the morning for De Colo, who also walked away with the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy and a spot on the 2015-16 All-Euroleague First Team. De Colo received more MVP votes than any other player during the selection process, which was open to both fans and accredited media members. De Colo, who joined CSKA prior to the 2014-15 campaign, was the Euroleague leader this season in average performance index rating (24.0 per game) and scoring (18.9 ppg.).
"It's amazing, I am very happy and proud to get this trophy of MVP in the best compe ion. But we are not done, we have two more games and need to stay focused. but this is great. All season i did my best to help the team and this is the most important." De Colo said. "It's always good to have individual trophies, but the most important thing is team spirit. I am very proud of playing in CSKA Moscow with my teammates, they make me a better player."

Then they played and we found it wasn't lol
Apparently Nando is way better now than he was with the Spurs. Seems to be a mental thing.
Best point guard in Siberia, tbh.
Damn, we gotta get this guy back, tbh.
Pop probably broke him.
He's talented but slow. No one doubted he could pass. I'd take him.
But yeah, not nba defender and not a good shooter (compared to pre surgery mills)
Yeah, but has he ever won Summer league MVP?
Congrats to Nando! Obviously a talented player but the NBA was probably one tier to high for him. Still a fun player to watch and happy to see him having success again.
He's fine if he's not having to play against NBA caliber talent.
Stealth Jimmer thread.
That's awesome for him, but it was clear he was not ready to defend at the NBA level.
Always liked that nig Nando, he had killer court vision but probably not athletic enough for here. Props to him though.
Watching Cory ball out in Toronto reminded me of this..

Guys take time to develop and need playing time to do so when they are young. I didn't watch the Spurs then but wasn't he streaky shooting and buried so deep in the rotation as to not get playing time? He's 28 now, no youngster. Cojo is 24-25 and has looked better now with a set role and steady playing time than he ever did in the Spurs.
Congrats to Nando.
He wasn't a good shooter then as I recall and would often pass off and defer to a teammate when he was wide open.
NBA caliber talent is over rated.
Then Nando routinely got on by over rated talent.
Better PG than Parker

Playing pg for SA is daunting. Pop mentally grinds them to the point they're afraid to dribble. Unfortunately it's left is in the 'always looking for a backup pg' category.
Mills gets a pass because he's really a two guard and is the only guy left standing that pop hasnt run off.
