chokejob... unfortunately, this might just be what the post Duncan/Manu Spurs will look like...
Even worse, at least Jim protects the rim and will rebound. LMA scores, but averages 7.8 rpg and 1 bpg in this series. These are PATHETIC numbers for a 6'11" big.

Spurs probably told him he'll replace Jim if he retires (from the looks of it he has a Purple and Gold knife in his back ). That, along with 20 years straight of playoff appearances (4.5** rangs ) sold him on going to SATX to play for your Spurs.

If this is the end for Jim, LMA has to rebound and rim protect. He hasn't shown the ability to rebound double digits in his career (he's done it only twice) and we know he's not known for swattery.

It'll be interesting to see Pop's trademark defense next year and beyond if Jim retires and LMA is asked to anchor. Can he do it? Doubtful tbh.

** denotes that a " le" was won in an NBA season that was light 32 games.

Game 2 defeat at home turned out to be costly for them Spurs imho. Had they made one more shot and won that game, with the hypothetical 3-0 advantage there would've been an easy path for them into the conference finals... Just one point :

The Spurs relied too much on LMA on the offensive end and when dude got tired out by the defensive rotation of Adams/Kanter/Ibaka, the Spurs had no efficient go-to guy on the court (while OKC always had two). Kawhi should play more aggressively and get more involved in offense imho, rather than limit himself to the role of a hardcore defender who chases down the opposing team's primary scorer all over the court without doing much else except shooting some cheap three's (that ought to be Danny's role, not his). is supposed to be the franchise player of this team, tbh.

You saw what happened when Kawhi wasn't guarding WestBrick in Gm 5 besides he was driving to the bucket & dunking on fools. It's Softridge that has resorted to jacking up midrange shots when things got physical rather than banging in the post as he was doing in the first 2 games.

Yeah, Pop should start David Robinson.

You do know David West has been just as ty on offense & might as well wear an OKC jersey on defense. I don't remember the last time Diaw grabbed a rebound either.

SA's offensive production has been ~7 points better per 100 possessions with Diaw instead of Duncan for entire season+playoffs. Not adjusted for lineups, but you should take any edge you can get, especially in this desperate situation.

Dumbass, Diaw can't in rebound to save his life. He is going to give up double what he produces.

Your favorite player is the worst player on the floor at any given time. Diaw doesn't need to play either.
