The biggest hole is the lack of a penetrating/explosive PG, tbh..somebody that can help the Spurs divert from the ugly 90s/ISO-offense + get open shots for the shooters(hopefully they add more shooters)..

As Chinook said, you can't have both Mills and Parker on the team again, next year..obviously Parker isn't going anywhere, so they really need to get a real backup PG..

The ISO offense is just not explosive enough to pad a large lead.

The bigs like West, Diaw and Aldridge not taking 3 point shots is also a problem. Look what Cleveland is doing with Love and Frye. Look what OKC does with Kanter and Ibaka.

Sigh... been saying this all year. You can't win by clogging the paint with bigs that aren't even bigger than the opponents bigs.

Anderson can get the out. As of tonight. Don't even fly back to SA, just never ing go back.
i understand you are mad. But he'll stay. He was asked to do the impossible this series. He's a bench leader but our bench sucks so he was exsposed. He's got time to develop his shots and he's the most promising poor mans' manu.

we could get rid of PArker, but it's easier to trade mills and green. He's pretty good insurance. He can teach a new PG. I would draft or take a young prospect, hope they can outplay parker by the playoffs.

Bigger factor should be a true center. Even if duncan comes back.

Spurs should see what they can get for lame. Maybe they could get somebody like Embiid or Griffin. Go young project or get a real playoff performer.

Spurs aren't getting away from iso offense so long as Leonard and LMA take their shots. May as well double down with Clarkson, who can at least get to the rim and has built-in counter moves in case teams overplay the drive. Biggest issue is going to be finding a big who can play next to LMA. Right now, Aldridge is the only big I project to return, and with the limited cap space (after getting Clarkson or another guard), it's going to be hard to round out that rotation. Team also needs to worry about fit in addition to general quality, as they should have learned by now that a center doesn't work very well. Yet they also JUST got exposed for being undersized.

If you move Parker and Diaw while letting the option-year guys and the FAs go, you have $34 Million. Clarkson's max is at like $15 Million, so you have $19 Million (minus a million or two to sign picks). Could get nut-busting Anderson for that much, but I would want someone younger and longer-term if I'm going through that upheaval. Sullinger is my guy for a young big, and if he doesn't work out Amir and Gasol would also be nice.

I say Mills, West, Anderson, Martin, Bonner,

    Maybe Green and Parker too
I actually like Martin, i would like for the Spurs to keep him. But guys like Diaw, Anderson, Bonner, and even Mills need to go. Including if Tim and Manu retire, and Parker sits his ass on the bench cuz he can't be a starter anymore. We need a new starting pg, an athletic defensive big, a decent back up for Kawhi, and , maybe even a new starting SG. A shooting guard that can slash and shoot.

Diaw, mills, manu, tim. Get a new starting point guard and have parker come off the bench, he is done as a starting point imo. Then go get some athleticism and shooting on the wing.Oh Pau gasol would really fit well in a spurs uniform.

Ideally, we move Mills and Parker retires. The best we can realistically hope for is Mills gets moved, Parker moves to the bench, and we draft sign a decent starting point guard that can either shoot and play d(or not be a liability), or penetrate and play d(or not be a liability).

Kawhi's got to develop as a playmaker. They've got to be able to put the ball in his hands in closing time and have him get a basket, foul, or assist.
