So the comments saying UT backed off on Tucker and that he did not have a commit-able offer were just flat-out wrong?

The truth probably lives somewhere in between.

It's been known for a while he has grade issues, so UT may not have been willing to take him right now which is similar to what they're doing with Buckley.

The UT staff is going to visit Manvel regardless.

Yeah, that's a much better situation for him than Colorado or Auburn.

I hope he tears it up.

Marques Bolden taking the same route. The aid agreement is binding only on the school if they enroll and the player can enroll anywhere without needing to get a release. Basically it is little more than a commit.

Quotes from ATH Saiid Adebo of Mansfield after receiving a UT offer last week (24/7):

“It was big," Adebo said. "Growing up, I always liked Texas. It’s a home state team. If you live in Texas, you follow UT, so it’s a big offer. It’s definitely going to be somewhere I look at."

“I like the tradition. They’ve been down a few years. But Texas doesn’t stay down for long, so they’ll be back in no time.”

“I got to go to the field house and meet with Coach Strong and some of the other coaches," he said. "That was big. I talked to Coach Strong and Coach Jennings, who was at Arkansas. He’s going to start hitting me up here now.”

“It (future position) doesn’t matter to me,” Adebo said. “I think I’m equally capable of playing both ways. It doesn’t matter. Whatever school or system fits me best is where I will go.”

Update on the 2018 WR Josh Moore and 2018 S Jordan Moore from Yoakum (24/7):

“Coach (Vance) Bedford came down here, and we talked a little bit,” Joshua said. “He said they probably wouldn’t offer until summer because he’s working on the 2017 class. But he said we would be some of the first 2018’s to get Texas offers."

“An offer from Texas would be tough to turn down. I haven’t taken a visit but once I get there on a visit, I think I will love it just as much as any other school.”

“I actually took a visit to Texas this weekend,” Jordan said. “I love how Charlie Strong is. I love Coach Bedford. I love everything about it. The players are cool with me. It was just amazing."

“My mom graduated from UT. If they offer, it’s going to put them high. They haven’t even offered yet, and they are already sitting high. Imagine when we start building a real close relationship. I’ve been waiting for that since a young age.”

“We want to play together, but at the same time, we have to do what’s best for us," Jordan said. "We are still going to keep in touch and be as close as we are now. We love to compete together but at the same time, it would be great to compete against each other.”

24/7 reporting OL Will Farrar is about to have surgery for a torn labrum that will see him miss time his senior year.

However, Inside Texas says that injury happened last year, he's already had surgery and is already rehabbing.

The UT staff knew about the injury before they offered.

    From the chipster-

Talked to multiple sources today connected to Baylor who said Ken Starr will be out as the school's president and chancellor - probably moved to a position in BU's law school - as a result of the failed leadership displayed after multiple rape claims made by female Baylor students against BU football players went all but ignored. ESPN's Outside The Lines had yet another report on new allegations on Wednesday. And yet Baylor's silence from the president's office persists. I'm told the term of BU regent Richard Willis as chairman is only through the end of May and that one of his final actions as regents chair will be to move Starr out as president and chancellor.

Art Briles, whose nickname among Baylor brass is "Moses," will absolutely continue on as football coach. The hope would be Baylor's new president could establish a strong relationship with Briles to make sure nothing like this ever happens again. Starr's personality is to avoid conflict and is too much like an attorney who always invokes attorney-client privilege in refusing to disclose any information, sources said. That is absolutely the wrong approach to have at Baylor right now, they said.

"Even at a private school, you have to get out in front of something like this and yell from the mountain top that you're going to get to the bottom of everything and make sure this never happens again," one BU source said. "The school's reputation is on the line." Keep an eye on Joel Allison, who is stepping down as CEO of Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health in February 2017 as a possible replacement for Starr replacement after an interim president is appointed for the next 6-7 months.
