Pop should try to acquire this guy:
They have so much in common.
No matter what moves the Spurs make this summer, is this guy still up for job?

He tries to be too cute nowadys tbh. He thinks the game revolves around him and not the players.
He's the reason Leonard stayed, LMA came and why Durant is even interested. I'll take it.
I'm not sure if Durant still interested coming here after Pop got outcoached by Billy ing Donovan tbh.
Wait up until this backdoor sweep by GSW
Careful, you might get pinked by a Popper.
Even if the Golden gots go backdoor, why would this sway him to the Spurs?
Sway him away from OKC, then it all begins.
Stupid ass thread

Keeping it Fake is not the answer.
Pop is a stubborn sob but who else can we get that's better? No one.
Jesus Christ!
Like you never had too much wine in you veins ..
Not saying Pop needs to leave.....just move on up to the cozy front office spot he deserves working with Bud...
However Spur fan wants to spin the OKC series, unless you where watching a different series, POP was out-coached by a simple adjustment by a f***** rookie coach...
I think we need to start having this conversation, of, what happens after Pop? Pop is a great NBA Coach, led the Spurs to 5 les, nobody is gonna ever take that away from him....add to that the POP lineage of front office, coaching, VP's...personnel across the league and you get one of the greatest coaches to every coach in the NBA.....but even Red eventually had to step aside......when is Pop done?
TBH for those of you who have read my posts for decades, I have always wondered how great of a coach Pop would have been had he only had average players...let's say he was in Utah....would a player like Leonard, Pop and Bud saw something in him that other teams didn't. would he have become the AllStar he is today on any other team?
Without duncan pop would have just been rick carlisle
Name a better option, anyone name a better option. And for the argument of he would've been nothing without Tim Duncan, what "great" coach never had a hall of famer?
What does "great" coach even mean?
I thought what Flip Saunders did with the Pistons was pretty good. Won a ring with a collection of decent players but I don't think any HOFs.
Most likely after his contract ends. There isn't anyone else that is better for the job at this moment.
How great would ANY NBA coach be with average players?
I hate the "Pop had Tim argument"
It can be made about anyone. Here:
I often wonder how great of a coach Phil would have been without Jordan, Pippen, Shaq, and Kobe. Or Red without Russell, Cousy, etc. Or Pat Riley without Magic and Kareem. Or Chuck Daly without Isiah, Dumars, Dennis Rodman, etc.
Larry Brown.
As for doing it with the talent they have, Larry Brown is one of the greatest.
Ironically, I'm not sure I agree with his swapping out Theo Ratliff and Kukoc for Deke Mutombo mid season.
