I think bringing back Nando would be a very good idea. He played with us for two years , he knows the system, is young, is 6'5", can shoot and pass the ball and its my understanding that his game has improved with playing time overseas.
He didnt have a chance to crack the rotation with so many guards ahead of him, but now that we need youth and speed, but no time to bring someone in and have them take a year to learn the system, we can plug Nando right in.
I like what I saw when he did get to play and I would really like to see him return to the Spurs.
    What do you say ?

I'm all for it but with the season he just had, he's probably out of our price range.

Just know that FIBA uses the WNBA 3 point line & that Nando is playing against the same level of talent he used to feast on in the D-League.

He's a below average athlete & is an average shooter for a guard thus I can't see him being anything more than Steve Blake at the same point of his career when he became a starter for the Blazers.

    NBA >> Euroligue >>>> D league

I think he improved a lot the past 2 years and last year with the FNT he took over the team on some games with Parker, Batum, Diaw in the team and playing Euro national team with a lots of NBA players

I think he would be a 12 pts 4 or 5 ast as a starter with decent D. And that is already better that most of our PG / SG

But He would ask too much based on his Euroleague success

SA traded him for Austin Daye.

Can you imagine the meltdown if the Spurs trade their 1st round pick to have his rights back ?

His time as a Spur was over the moment he asked to leave due to the lack of PT. I wouldn't doubt him back in the NBA, but it won't be as a Spur.

Rudy Fernandez was a FIBA superstar who dueled w/ Kirby & couldn't even put up Will Barton numbers.

Rudy Fernandy never was Euroleague MVP or Euroleague Final four MVP
    Nando was both this year

I'm not saying he would be a top 10 SG in the league but he would be a good starter IMO. At least better than 40 year old Manu, 35 year old Parker or Mr inconsistent Danny Green

    Nando was both this year
Rudy was the best young player in Europe & had NBA level athleticism unlike Nando.

Besides, if you think winning Euroleague MVP is something special for point guards then google Sergio Rodríguez who also couldn't make it in the NBA b/c of his athleticism & recently went on to become Euroleague MVP. Don't forget that Nando is playing alongside Teodosić who is one of the best guards in Europe, which has made his life easier.

It's great that Nando is having success overseas but he had his shot with the Spurs. Would take a pass on Nando at this point.

Coming off his MVP season in Europe, would he be an upgrade over a 38-year old Manu Ginobili at this point?

I would consider him if Manu retired. He won't come back to be at the end of the bench like he was, or to battle J.Simms and Anderson for minutes (or a rookie guard drafted this season for that matter, if that were the case). He can shoot and pass really well, both needs at the guard spots, and he has really improved these past two seasons as a shooter/scorer. It really depends what options are out there, but if PATFO was considering over the hill vet pickups like K.Martin, I would very much prefer Nando.

MVP of the final 4, that doesn't sound like the achievement of someone who can't handle pressure ( o Teodosic...)

In the final, he doesn't had a outstanding game before the over-time, but then he made 10 pts, with 8/8 at the FT line.
