Alabama has offered 2018 CB Verone McKinley III of Plano Prestonwood Christian.

He's another top in-state DB who will camp at UT this summer.

Texas making strong play for DT Damion Daniels:

A few quotes about Texas (Orangebloods)

“The defensive coordinator came up here yesterday and I like them,” he said. “They have been showing a lot of love and I really like it, so I hope they just stay with it.”

“I was supposed to visit (Texas) when I visited UTSA, on the way back, but I guess the defensive coordinator wasn’t there at the time,” he said. “So I told them I would come back, but I am for sure visiting this summer.”

“(The defense) runs a three-man front and a four-man front, but I like the four-man front because they keep their players energized, keep them fresh,” he said. “They always have a rotation going so they won’t get tired quick and they all make plays.”

On a timeline for his commitment:
“Media Day before the season I am looking to drop my Top 15,” he said. “I’m looking to make a final decision in January.”

    DE Taquon Graham (Temple)

DE Taquon Graham (Temple). Not even sweating it. Strong does his work at the end.

IT on Graham - Mom laid down the law and told him once he commits even if it's just a verbal he's done.

hammster on Graham: Just talked to him. A&M still on the outside looking in. Has not been invited to the BBQ event (that could be because the staff was expecting him to be off the board on Friday) and the only visit he knows he wants to take is OU.

Temple defensive end Taquon Graham will no longer be making a decision at his spring game on Friday. Graham was considered a Texas lean, and it would have been a major surprise if the four-star prospect would have committed to any school other than UT at the end of the week. So what changed? According to a source close to Graham, somebody blatantly anti-recruited Texas over the last few days, which made him second-guess his intentions to make a verbal pledge on Monday. While the situation might look troublesome for Texas, I’m told the Longhorns are still in a prime position to land Graham. He’s visited UT on a number of occasions, his mother loves the staff and Charlie Strong is a key figure in his recruitment.

With that said, TCU has made a major surge as of late — Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson has made Graham one of his top personal targets. Graham is listening to TCU, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him make a visit. Texas A&M is also making a strong push for Graham, but according to sources, TCU is the bigger threat to Texas in this recruitment. Right now, Graham has no new date for a decision, but he will likely make a commitment at some point in the summer. At 6-foot-3, 251 pounds, Graham is ranked as the No. 12 weak-side defensive end in the country and No. 26 overall prospect in the state, according to 247Sports Composite.

A funny post I saw this morning basically said Baylor's strategy is "who can we fire and still be good at football?"

Baylor has typically done their news dumps on a Friday, a holiday or close to a national event like the Super Bowl in order to keep a low profile.

June 3rd is a Friday and happens to be right after payments are finalized on May 31st for season ticket holders.

Any devastating news should come after that point.

24/7 saying UT isn't going to pursue RB Najee Harris and RB Toneil Carter as hard as was previously reported.

A lack of interest is probably the reason why.

RB JK Dobbins remains the sole focus while the staff is also trying to get RB AJ Davis of Lakeland, FL to visit.

Here is where things could go really bad for football people:

A source close to the situation said Starr arrived at his meeting with regents on Tuesday morning "lawyered up" and may not go quietly. A source close to Starr raised questions about how much of the complaints against BU football players actually got to the president's desk versus being handled underneath him without his knowledge.

If the above is pursued vigorously and made public.
Otherwise Baylor wins on the field and Briles stays. There is time, but not much. Unfortunately I bet they reach a settlement and the dirty laundry stays in the closet.

Rumor has it he reached out to Texas, but Texas has already said no.
    24/7 (Hummer)

Tim Irvin was once of a member of the Texas Longhorns famed "Florida Five" and now the defensive back has a second chance to join a few of his fellow Floridians.
Irvin announced Tuesday he intends to transfer from Auburn, which he picked after decommiting from Texas during the 2015 cycle, and is now looking for a new home. According to 247Sports' Ryan Bartow, the Longhorns are a potential landing spot for the former four-star defensive back.
Wrote Bartow about Irvin and Texas: "His uncle, Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, has already been in touch with Longhorns coach Charlie Strong discussing the possibility of bringing in his nephew. "
The report also indicated Irvin has early interest in Miami, where his uncle played, and East Carolina, where his other uncle, Sedrick Irvin, works as an offensive analyst.
Irvin, a Miami native, committed to Texas on Jan. 3, 2015 at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He was considered the ringleader of a group of five South Florida players -- Devonaire Clarington, Cecil Cherry, Davante Davis and Gilbert Johnson -- that pledged to the Longhorns during the 2015 cycle. However, Irvin switched his commitment to Auburn on Jan. 18, becoming the first of four members of that group to eventually leave the Longhorn program. Only Davis, who started at cornerback for Texas as a freshman last season, remains on campus.
Due to NCAA transfer rules Irvin will need to sit out a year at whatever school he transfers to, and he has three years of eligibility remaining beginning in the fall of 2017 . He is expected to make visits over the next few weeks, per Bartow.

Irvin played in 10 games for Auburn and recorded 18 tackles as a freshman last season.

Howe 24/7 saying "My understanding is if Irvin wants to come there's a spot for him."

We have plenty of talent at DB. I'm surprised Irvin would even want to come here especially after decommitting.
