HBO is becoming a corner these days.
HBO is becoming a corner these days.
I switched from U-verse (AT&T) to Cox Cable
Cox has free HBO & Showtime but the other channels are not of equal quality. I'm a little disappointed at the moment.
And that's . I've been with Cox for 20+ years and "you" get the freebies. Me? Steady increases, no freebies. I have to beg for a discount. The counter guy calls to the back, a manager comes out, won't even look at me in the face, crunches the numbers for 3 minutes. Instead of $184.00 a month, "give him $179.00", then goes back into the back. Me? I agree. I pay the $184.00 because they won't grant $179.00 on this day. The kicker? They escort me to the door and hold it open for me. tee, hee.
Geez man. You need to switch every 2 years. Their rule is 30 days without service and you are considered a new customer.
4 years ago - Dish Network
2 years ago - At&T
now - Cox
You basically just described every cable and dish company. They all play the same game; hook you with the "free" for the first 6-12 months, then the rape kicks in full gear after that.
Here's a tip though: Call Cox today and tell them that you want the "Loyalty Discount" or you are cancelling your service today. They will automatically discount your account by $15 per month for the next 12 months, and will do the same when the 12 months are up and you call them again. I've done it for 6 years straight now.
I don't like strangers in my house. But, after this contract is up (next May) I'm taking a fit at Cox. If they don't give me a discount, or, at least hold the line I'm switchin'.
This is a sound plan... I'm on it. cox.

call the customer service line and ask for the Customer Retention dept. tell them Dish or Directv or whomever is going to give you a better deal and that while you don't want to leave... Customer retention departments are who have real authority to give you discounts. Heck, I worked these people over so bad at Directv that I got a call from the Office of the President and now I go there for my complaints. But try Customer Retention, the OotP is by invitation only.
LOL HBO![]()
I've been thru the Customer Retention protocol, but, not for several years. I will give it a go. Thanks for the refresher, butts.
So you like Cox?
lol Sopranos vs Jalen Rose.
So... where's he going to write articles? HBO.com? Writing is all that he's good at, and even then he's not as good as he used to be.
This is pretty much what I do, but instead of being all over the place, I just replace the name.
I've gone from my mother's name, to my own name, to my sister's name (currently)
Each time you bow out it resets as if you're a new customer so you dont get any interruption that way. You are able to keep it plus get put on the 1 year special plan which is like 130 for TV+internet and phone.
didn't realize that part. Then, yeah definitely
Didn't like his TV persona, and i don't know why he is so adamant that he would succeed in it..That nasal voice is just bad fit for it and way too dominant over the picture..Does this mean that there will be no podcast/columns next year?
Writers aren't often good speakers. Christopher Hitchens was an exception, though I'd not care for his sports talk. Mark Twain was another of course.
Bill has a penchant for writing, but he's too much like a weasel to take seriously as a TV face. There's only a few people who I care for in that realm; Ernie Johnson, Marv Albert, Hubie Brown, Jeff Van Gundy and few others. It's painful watching some of these guys not knowing even where to look when someone else is talking, talking over people, getting into the crow smack talk and jive for 20 minutes so you get nothing from a halftime show. I want the TNT guys back, Ernie, Jet and Chuck. Shaq needs to go. He's too unpolished and uninteresting, to much about him. Chuck will say this or that guy was better than him, tells hard truths most times but Shaq is too sensitive about his delicate legacy to ever have real talk. When he tries he mumbles and you can't understand he's saying.
The ESPN guys, Skip and Smith, two loud mouth pieces of radio , self important gots. Mike and Mike, can't stand any show that's on TV but they are behind microphones. Jesus ing christ, you're on ing national television, get a forum and can the got bobbleheads. Bring back Don Imus (is he still alive?) and get Sage Steele the off the air. In fact, no more females talking about sports, ever again, unless it's tampon throwing.
That ailing show is ready to commit suicide if the rumors about Kobe joining in 2017 are true..Yes, Shaq has sunk it, the Shaqtin'a-fool segment aside, but in itself, Chuck style and the various show shticks have been all exhausted and worn thin over the last few years..
Still can't believe I thought Skip Bayless is the major of San Antonio. Somebody called him that after we won the championship last year and I believed it (thought he was invited to those talks because of that...pretty cool major ^^). After all he is talking about "we" when refering to the Spurs. Which TV guy does that? It was until a few weeks ago, that I knew he was a real part of the talk show and not a politician.
...actually it was until 2 minutes ago.![]()
Made an appearance last night on Inside the NBA and talked a bit about new show..Dude still stiff AF behind the camera..he is just not made for TV.
CROFL Simmons calling out Barkley for how much he loved taking bad three point shots.![]()
agreed dude is best in blog or podcast form ..
Love westbrook but all that dancin' and prancin' gotta stop ...
