0:35 Russell Westbrook bad pass (Andre Iguodala steals)

This except the 0:12 is utter bull as mouthbreather obviously fouled Westbook causing him to lose the ball.

And if the refs would have called an even game, he would have had about 6 fewer free throws. It balances out. The refs favor the Thunder more than any team in the league, don't blame their ups on the guys in the stripes.

Last night was not about coaching. It was all about failure to execute the simplest of tasks on the court.
When KD took the rebound with about 50 seconds to go, down 5 or so, they should have called a timeout. They didn't. They seemed to be sleep walking through the final 4 minutes without no direction. That's coaching and timeout management. I like Donovan just fine, but he showed his lack of NBA experience right there.

CHOKElahoma, baby! Ringless for all eternity.

Hopefully, Donovan will go to the Spurs when Pop finally retires. He's a Pop disciple and perfect for the Spurs.
If he's that good he probably hangs around OKC for awhile, but he might want to be back in Florida so Orlando might be a good fit for him eventually when the next savior out there is fired.

    McVeigh is a hero.
He put his life on the table to show his conviction.

You won't even stick around to face the banter after a Lakers loss.

Too much is expected from the starters. In particular Durant and Westbrook. Playing every other day has been the turning point in this series. The exhaustion started in game 5. But especially the 4th quarter tonight. They ran out of gas. The Warriors are deeper and their style is less demanding.
In this supposed era of superior sports medicine and conditioning I refuse to believe these guys can't play a 37-40 minute game without getting gassed. These excuses just show even further how soft this era has gotten. The bump and grind physical contact that would wear a player down is significantly less now and these guys are still getting winded?

    Combined with delegating -or not.
When OKC took it's 8 point lead, they were spreading the ball around. Durant could be a great decoy and fake shots and pass. He was terrible at that in the 4th qtr last night. Ditto Westbrook, altho Westbrook often does create for others.

Failure to use the rest of the team is in Durant and Westbrooks hands. They can't go Porker and blame the others for their ballhogging and turnovers.

    Disgusting giveaway game.

I was disappointed with Billy Donovan for allowing the hero-balling to occur from the outset of the game and enabling Durant and Westbrook to take some incredibly stupid shots. If I were the coach and I saw Durant take an off-balanced 30+ foot heave I would have called timeout and lit his ass up for that terrible shot. If I see Westbrook heave a two hand shot/pass/whateverthe thatwas that clanks horribly off the rim I'm lighting his ass up. Donovan had been great at using his timeouts to reel his low IQ chuckers in when they play stupid but in Game 5 and 6 he regressed to Scott Brooks 2.0 and let those guys do whatever they wanted.

Good points, but Donovan didn't miss all those shots and Donovan didn't repeatedly turn the ball over down the stretch.

He didn't exactly put his players in a position to succeed though. He really was Scott Brooks 2.0 where he seemed content to ride his talent instead of doing some actual coaching. The late 4th quarter play calls where Durant or Westbrook held the ball for almost the entire shot clock and then tried to do some hero was the same failed stuff they've been doing the last 5 years. Their offense became predictable and they let GS's defense off the hook. The Warriors dug in and didn't have to move at all until they just collapsed on the hero of the moment. It also doesn't help to keep putting the ball in Durant's hands when he's a sub-par creator. They need to work him off screens for some catch and shoots in those situations.

It definitely the case of OKC letting GS off the hook down the stretch. Their offense was stagnant which allowed the Warriors to make some good defensive plays.

Bull , Donovan choked as much as the players did. The first time they started just trying to dribble out clock with 4:30 left Donovan should have called timeout and lit into his team. Instead he just kept letting them iso and hold the ball until there was 10 seconds or less on the shot clock, and then they end up having to force horrible shots to beat the clock. It's exactly what the Clippers did in Game 5 in 14 and the results were the same. Donovan got scared just like Durant and Westbrook. You don't run clock only up 7 with 4:30 left. You can run clock up 15 with 2:30 left, but 7 points ain't in the NBA. Billy could get away with that crap in the NCAA, but not in the show.
How far down were the Spurs in game one against GSW in 2013? Weren't we down double digits with about 4 minutes left and came back to force overtime and win that game. GSW have seen first hand that you can easily come back in that amount of time. I agree with you 100% as I've seen it first hand. 7 points is nothing. OKC completely ed up trying to nurse that lead. It's all on them. I don't think fatigue played a huge role in it. OKC's approach to trying to hold that lead and playing idiotic low IQ ball did them in. It's all on them.

They still have one chance here to make it all right though, so we'll see what they are made of. Let's see if they can come back from this. I hope for their sake that they give it everything they have in game 7 and don't check out mentally before the game has even started. That's the key to games like that after a loss like this - you just can't check out mentally before the game has even started. You gotta believe 100% that you can go in there and win it. I'm curious to see what they're made of.

Indeed. Gotta take the bad with the good, even if it's sloppy execution to blame. Captain goes down with the ship.
