Is the asterisk in the 15' because Delevedova outplayed the MVP.
2016 Warriors > 2014 Spurs > 2013 Heat > 2015 Warriors > 2012 Heat
Of course that's assuming GS wins tonight. It'd be one of the biggest upsets in NBA history if they don't.
warriors can be beat with average bigs and tenacious rebounding. whereas the miami lebrons only were beat by age and fatigue, the 2014 spurs were only beat by their own fragility.
Game of the century would be the Nash suns vs curry warriors. But Kobe -gasol lakers would beat both. It's like rock paper scissors, you can compare rocks vs rocks but comparing rocks vs paper is moot bc paper always beats rock not matter who is stronger.
So 2016 Warriors = best jump shooting team of recent history
2013 Heat and 2016 Warriors, very close.
Didn't win the championship, but I would also like to nominate 2012 Spurs for third place. I absolutely loved this team and this was the last year of the Big 3 at full performance. So upset and utterly shocked this team didn't win the le, they were so amazing and dominant for so long and then............. wtf? (And REFS)
You guys had it all right there for the taking: Ended up in ritual divorce, the loss of millions of dollars, your 1st 5th, a repeat, a three peat, and finally a bunch of ding bat Sooners bashing in the Alamo for the second time.
SA s
LA Fakers
I'm already pumped about Elliott, the OL and the return of Tony & Dez.
What about you? Your team just drafted a hash addict who jumps out windows in the first round to be your best pass rusher.![]()
Wow...you're still obsessed with 2013, eh? Let it go, man.
2004
2008
2nd 5th trumps 3rd 4th.
So to you the Spurs who got backdoor swept by a Thunder team that got exposed in the finals are better than the Spurs who bulldozed over the '14 Heat (which was essentially the same team as the '13 Heat)?![]()
Only if you enjoy flopping, chucking, cheap shots, fake tough guys, and (for the Suns) All-Star Game-caliber defense.
Cubby... if Spurs win in 2013 it creates an alternate reality where they might not ring in 2014.
The Suns were middling on defense during the Nash years... not a bottom 5 defensive team... usually around middle of the pack... don't think it's fair to call them all-Star caliber defense.
But their best edition was the 2005 and 2007 editions... their 2008, 2010, and 2006 teams weren't really that good and in 2009 they missed the playoffs.
& if it doesn't work out splendidly I'll be an amazed monkey's ass.
I'm not willing to take that chance. These fellows, as much as I love 'em would be an insufferable bunch at repeat & three peat. I'd a grown old, gray, and I woulda died in that RR.
No way. That was big time, baby. When Dale obsesses & ruminates he never stops.
the dependency of this Warriors team on the 3 pointers and the lack of inside scoring has exposed their versatility in playoffs basketball which is why they have looked vulnerable both in 2015/2016 postseasons compared to their all-conquering reg season form...they don't have a Diaw/Timmy they could throw the ball inside to get them buckets..it took an ungodly 17-31 shooting from distance for them to barely avoid elimination..
I still think 2014 Spurs as the best playoffs team this century since 2001 Lakers..they could kill you in many ways..
you really don't need to be one...the ball Spurs played after G6 of the Mavs series was the most dominant I've seen in my lifetime..And the #s bear it out..
Bonus: The Beautiful Basketball
The downside was that is was so brief.
The warriors had an equally dominate run in the reg season. But then they ground to a halt with playoffs pressure. The spurs are the opposite. Peaking when it counts is obviously better, but if you are crowning the 2014 spurs the team of the decade you have to admit it's a very small sample. Regression to the mean was swift.
