2001 Lakers lost A game during their playoff run. It included the epic curb-stomping of the Spurs (lost games 3 and 4 by a combined 70 points).

And people laugh at "today's NBA".
Well, that's not saying much. The '01 Spurs had one of the worst rosters of all time outside of Duncan, who was just a year removed from knee surgery.

    But yes, '01 Shaq > '16 Curry.

Shaq was a damn monster in the playoffs for that le run and even in 2004 against Detroit he came through, he as unstoppable in his prime. Those finals numbers he had for the three peat were insane.

Not even "kind of" true. A meniscus tear isnt in the same ball park as a microfracture.

Yep, in reality we were extremely fortunate to accomplish what we did.
When did your Suns ever accomplish anything?

The supporting cast on the '01 Spurs were so sorry that Fisher made more 3s than the ENTIRE Spurs squad. (He would have been the 2nd best player on the Spurs)

In Gm 2, Tim also dropped 40(15-26)/15/6 in Gm 2 Vs. Snacks 19(8-21)/14/1 & the Spurs still lost the game. The last time Shaq got outplayed that badly was Gm 1 of the '99 WCF & the next time Shaq got outplayed as badly as Gm 2 of the 2001 WCF was Gm 2 of the 2002 WCSF.

Basically, the only big man to dominate 1999-2003 Shaq (aka PEAK Snack) in a game was Tim & he actually outplayed him for the entirety of the ''99 WCF/'02 WCSF /'03 WCSF series.

You're right, they are totally different aliments & not all microfracture/meniscus tears are the same. In any case, that was only relevant for Tim missing the 2000 postseason when the Spurs lost to the Suns in the 1st rd w/ soft ass Admiral shooting 39%.

The Spurs got swept in 2001 b/c of the sorry ass supporting cast who couldn't even hold a candle to the great Derek Fisher especially after Derek Anderson got injured.

Ummm...no, it doesnt. Since Duncan wasnt recovering from a micro-fracture as you stated (simply a meniscus tear an entire year before), the Spurs really have no excuse for getting swept.

Pretty amazing to watch Duncan's great defense against Shaq in this video.

    Imagine if Kobe hadn't raped.
Imagine if the Duncans hadn't divorced.
Imagine if the Horrys hadn't conceived Robert.

LOL...if that was one of the worst rosters (2001 Spurs) and they swept their way to the conference finals, then what does that say about the NBA at that time? How is today's NBA any different?

Not much different in that regard. The NBA has always been predictable, with 2-3 true contenders every year and everyone else with no real chance to win the whole thing.

Did Shaq ever have a 4-15, 11 point game in the finals?
