Jerry West actually...
Have to give this man a lot of credit, tbh..
He has helped lead the creation of the greatest team in NBA history, advanced and innovative in virtually every facet of basketball, on and off the court..
The NBA will probably have to change the rules to stop the Warriors, going forward, or they will probably win 4 or 5 in a row(at least), barring injury..respect..
Just dont be too sad for him (Lebron) in June, k Harlem? ..![]()
I'll take the under on a 4 or 5 peat though.
Eh...owners shouldn't get too much credit for being rich and happening to be associated with the best team in their league. I don't know anything about this particular case, though, so I could be wrong. But in general I'm highly skeptical of giving owners credit for anything.
Won't 4peat without another superstar imo. They'll win next year again rather easily (+160), but Im still hoping they make the big move by signing Durant![]()
OP is a troll so not surprising that he would praise a real life troll. This is basically troll recognizing troll. In all seriousness Lacob gets 20 percent of the credit since he was willing to pay the money to keep this team together but we'll see in the next few years how much his wallet will stretch. I predicted if they won this year they would 3 peat but I don't see them going beyond that. They will eventually deal with injuries, aging, roster changes, decline, and external variables such as other teams getting better through player development, drafts, trades, free agency.
Bull . Owners have a lot of say in who runs what and when. There's a reason Dan Gilbert never won a ring while Peter Holt has 5. There's a reason Donald Sterling couldn't field a winning team. There's a reason Dr Buss was so much more than his kids.
Your right he had Jerry West and his kids have Mitch.
The new guy ain't got nothin' that Sterling hasn't got.
Except for a team.
me. You're never wrong.
Your comment was non sequitur, it didn't deserve much more.
Of course the owner makes some difference, but not enough to where I'd create a thread giving one props for the best team ever. There are lots of factors more important than ownership.
Heard this after the Lakers went 15-1 in 2001, after the Lakers repeated in 2010, and the Heat repeated in 2013. All the talk was how they would win 4-5 les. None of them did it. The Warriors didn't even dominate this postseason and needed an okc game 6 chokejob to make back it to the finals. A 73-9 team should never have to rely on that in the first place.
Clipper Nation White sox better than Da Cubs?
739 really sticks in the craw of many people. It was sacred & heartily believed safe for eternity.
I am still to this day flabbergasted, absolutely shocked that Silver did not put a stop to it. Even Media as much as State is their darling can't get past 739 and now look at State with a jaundiced eye.
Good. I like to see others suffer.
As long as LeCoon doesn't bring one to the land![]()
I have been watching basketball since '91 and have witnessed a lot of repeats and 3peats. One thing they all have a common is during the championship runs the fans and media suffered from prisoner of the moment syndrome and like you said thought they were going to win 4-5 in a row. I especially remember in '01 people believing the Lakers would challenge Russell's Celtics record of winning 8 straight les in a row. No one envisioned at that time 2 years later after getting swept the Spurs would take them out.

What does he have to do with a league litters by awful teams like the 6ers, lakers, wolves, bucks, etc.
When a league can have the raptors make the ECF and take the clear cut east kings to 6 games, when the second best team can win 67 games, when a 73 win team got stretched to the limit with a game with very questionable calls, it's not the best team being historically great, it's to do with the league being historically bad.
If the Spurs had an owner with guts like Lacob, Pop wouldn't have lasted as long as he has. Even he knew that he had to resign but the owner wouldn't let him.
