For the rest of his life branded as a sex offender. That's excessive. I could be wrong but did he not do any more than just penetrate her? Did he rough her up as well, with fist and privates? Obviously he violated someone and should be punished but if he was a good kid before and stays good after, I think that's an unfair brand permanently. People get desperate and do things sometimes, not that I condone what he did.

That said, given how light his prison sentence is, branding him a sex offender for life more than makes up for that lenient sentence.

How's the jury selection situation in the US?
In Canada, they always make sure the juries are racially diversified in cities with a significant number of minorities....
he works for the NFL office now. basically the league gave him a job because of how ed up the justice system did him.
juries here are not diverse at all. jury selection is supposed to be your peers but more often than not, its full of people who are from totally opposite backgrounds and inherent hatred of those on trial. its why i make sure i never avoid going to jury duty and i tell my friends and family to make sure they serve on juries.
People take Jury selection very lightly. I'm actually amazed by hownits taken so lighlty. I myslef did a few years ago. It really wasnt until 8 months ago I realized the opporutnity you get to make a change with Jury duty is something to take seriously.
I also noticed that minorities tend to not give a about Jury duty. Its usually just white people that take it seriously. Wasted opportuniy to fight white provilage imo.
